Guy who covers the Broncos and now works radio (I think a former Bronco player) says Elway is working on a trade involving starting LB Brandon Marshall

Don't release Romo. Hold on to him. Sometimes Jerry does a lot of talking but McShay and Stephen really make the decisions. They probably say just let Jerry have his way and talk; we will do otherwise

Would like it for it to be here for Romo; but that would also mean Jaylon's chances are sunk. Isn't Jaylon the plan for MLB?

That's what they have said all along. I think could play Smith at OLB or play Marshall there too. Another option might be to move Lee back to MLB or SS OLB, and put Smith at WOLB.

If it were to happen and Smith was healthy enough to start, we'd have a significantly upgraded LB corp that had quite a bit of speed, range and versatility. You literally could play any of those 3 guys (Lee/Smith/Marshall) at any of the 3 LB spots. Remember too that one of Smith's best attributes at Notre Dame was as a 3rd down pass rusher too.

All I have to say is Fuck Jerry and Fuck Tony Romo.

Jerry couldnt have fucked this up any worse if he tried. "Hey lets do right by Romo" Gee an extra pick wouldnt have come in handy at all between rounds 2-4 amiright? I mean those holes in the secondary are going magically plug themselves as long as Tony is good.

Houston and Denver are going to get desperate. They will give us a 1st or 2nd rounder or a rotational player they currently have. Patriots moves will force their hands to win now

If Denver really wants him, you'd think they would feel the need to trade for him unless they are truly satisfied with Simien or Lynch.

They have to be really concerned that Houston would do everything they could to sign him once he is released. They have a competitive team with a great defense and some good playmakers on offense, plus Romo can stay closer to home by staying in-state. Plus they moved Osweiler, getting rid of his spot and his cap number.

I just hope Jerry realizes that we shouldn't just release him. There are no marque free agents to sign after June 1st anyway so take the hit and trade him. Get compensation in return

They almost assuredly would have been able to do that, had the drunken owner just kept his piehole shut all offseason or simply said "Romo is our backup QB"

That's all that needed to be done. We don't need to cut him for cap space, so the SMART thing to have done (which Jerry never does) is just to shut the fuck up and give the appearance that Romo was either going to be the backup here, or retire. MAKE teams come to you and ask about him.

Don't go out there like a fucktard clown and yack to everyone that will listen about "we have to do right by Romo"

I do think Denver might truly be satisfied with giving Lynch a shot and would only take Romo on the very cheap.

Houston might be the only team really interested -- which is probably the problem. Only one team doesn't make a market.

Still don't see why you guys are bashing Jerry so much. I hate him as much as anyone, but it seems like in keeping Romo this long he is trying to get something for him instead of just "doing right" by Tony.

Well he shot himself in the foot by mouthing off. That's why many of us are mad at him.

If he had said nothing and at least gave teams the inkling he really might be staying here, and THEN we got no offers and then released him- fine. But he didn't do that.

I'm still trying to fathom why the Texans could move a bad QB with a big contract for a middling draft pick but we can't move a second tier elite QB with a big contract for similar compensation. I mean, whoever signs Romo is hoping he gets them to the SB. The same cannot be said of Osweiller.

If they really do hold on to Romo as long as they can another team will emerge. Also I think the Broncos will realize that if they really do want to get to another SB then Romo is their best option at QB. Also I think that the closer the season gets Romo will realize all he wants to do is play and will look to other teams besides Denver and Houston (keep an eye on Jacksonville).

Houston didn't get shit for Osweiler. They gave up a second to get rid of him
