What a bummer for this kid. Probably would have been a top 10 or 15 pick next yr, now almost assuredly will slip. But its happened so late in this college football season am not sure what his status will be for 2015 NFL season.

The injury makes it likely he might be available for us at or around our pick in April, but probably couldn't count on him doing anything for next yr.

Mark Schlabach breaks down the latest on Georgia running back Todd Gurley, who has reportedly suffered a torn ACL in his left knee.

Georgia running back Todd Gurley suffered a torn ACL in his left knee Saturday, the school announced Sunday.

An MRI confirmed the injury, but a surgery date has not been set.

Gurley injured his knee in the Bulldogs' 34-7 win over Auburn on Saturday night.

The former Heisman Trophy frontrunner was injured on a 6-yard run with a little more than five minutes remaining in the fourth quarter.

Saturday was Gurley's first game back for the Bulldogs after serving a four-game NCAA suspension for taking $3,000 for autographed memorabilia and other items over the course of two years.

Gurley rushed for 138 yards and a touchdown on 29 carries against the Tigers before leaving.

On the season, Gurley has rushed for 911 yards and nine touchdowns.

Assuming Georgia was way ahead already.... Why wasn't this guy on the bench?

He'd missed a number of games because of that b/s NCAA decision, he wanted to be on the field and get reps. He's a competitor.

He's a tremendous talent, but the Freshman kid Chubb behind him is going to be really, really good himself.

He's not a competitor anymore, because the coach didn't pull him with 5 minutes left and a big lead.

Just saw this on ESPN and my first thought was-- will he fall to us in the draft now???

Figure a 9 month recovery, and he'll definitely be ready for us by late September at latest.

Bye Murray.

OT, but speaking of Murray replacements I liked that David Cobb from Minnesota on Saturday. Not that he's Gurley, and I don't even know much about him -- he didn't look too fast -- but he looks pretty good and seems big enough to be durable.

Still think we should make a play for Mark Ingram. He looks like a good, one-cut, downhill runner like Murray is.

Agreed.

Option #1 - Sign Murray to a team-friendly deal.
Option #2 - Sign a humbled Adrian Peterson to a 3-year deal (2 years in reality).
Option #3 - Sign Ingram.
Option #4 - Draft

Bob is so angry....

..and confused about his sexuality.

As far as Thought Experinment....Ingram just hasn't had the topnotch coaching of Garrett to fully... I couldn't even finish typing that.

Ingram is fine in a power offense. He just would need to come off on obvious passing downs.

Ingram wouldn't be a bad fallback option if other avenues didn't work out.
