Given the expectations and video teases of his workouts he's been sharing, is Jaylon Smith the Cowboy with the most to prove in 2017?
Mosley: "I don't know about that. I don't think he's ready to go yet. I'm still hearing about this "drop foot." The league's not full of great players with that condition. I think it's 50-50 that he even plays this season. Just a gut feeling mixed with some feedback I'm getting."

34th pick in the 2016 NFL draft officially blown

Rappaport reporting that Jaylon Smith will be the first player to try and play with drop foot and a brace. Confirmed by Fisher and Broaddus. So much for the surgeon/ team doctor having a good handle on the situation. You realize that the pick should have been a highly productive player for years, right?

#Cowboys exec Stephen Jones was optimistic Jaylon Smith will be effective. Yet the nerve has seen “no significant change,” source said.

With #Cowboys LB Jaylon Smith’s nerve not firing, he’ll have to play in a game with a brace for drop foot. Would likely be the 1st to do it

#Cowboys reality now is they are no longer waiting for Jaylon Smith’s knee to fire. They’re proceeding as if it won’t & he’ll play anyway

Yep and with Sean Lee 31 and his body more like 51, LB becomes a major need in this draft.

Did they fire their doctors that assured them Jaylon would fully recover?

The denial at the Zone is so thick you need a chain saw to cut it. It is laughable that he is gonna play well dragging one leg around in a brace. Front office is in just as big denial. The reality is the 34th pick in last years draft just fell off a sky scarper and hit the pavement with a big splat.

Think I'll wait to see what he looks like if he gets on the field first.

Didn't seem like from those video clips that he was "dragging one leg around" and he had the brace on then. He was running and cutting and by many reports is already running 4.5 or better.

I didn't agree with the pick when we made it because it was a major gamble, but we now that its been done we should just see how it plays out.
