1st Round. Alphonzo Dennard, CB, Nebraska

I'd love to go interior offensive line here, but I don't think it happens. One, I think the team will hope two people seperate themselves out of the Nagy/Kowalski/Costa/Arkin bunch. And two, I think Jerry would be hesitant to draft offensive lineman in back to back first rounds. Especially considering how those 90's lines were built from early to mid round draft picks themselves.

That said, we can't pretend that the secondary isn't a need. The Ryan defense relies on corners, but that could probably be said for most defenses in the league. Especially when you have to face the likes of Eli Manning, Drew Brees, Aaron Rodgers, etc etc etc.

The Cowboys gave Prince Amukamera a hard look last year and there were rumors of us trading up for Peterson, and then tried to land Awesomewhah in free agency, so clearly the team recognizes the need to add new talent here. And that was before Newman became such a liability this season.

I'd love to take a roadgrader Olineman, but I say this'll be a defense heavy draft, starting in round 1.

2nd Round. Billy Winn, DE, Boise State

I actually don't even think Winn would be available where we pick in the 2nd round. I think his athleticism will move him up a lot of teams draft boards. But assuming he is there, he'd be a great replacement for Kenyon Coleman. He's similar to Spears in that he can play end when we have a three man line, but he can also move inside if we go with a four man line.

3rd Round. Ben Jones, C, Georgia

After going with either smaller centers, or guys who need time in the weight room to develop, we land a prototypical center prospect here out of the most dominant conference in college football. This acquisition would be a steal in this round. Kowalski has shown progress, but there's no shame in being a reserve center or guard. Costa has a great work ethic, but he doesn't belong on anyones starting 5. Ben Jones would likely win the starting spot week 1 of training camp, and serve as the teams center for the next 8-10 years.

4th round. Brandon Lindsey, OLB, Pittsburgh

Started at linebacker at Pittsburgh before the Stache moved him to DE. Would serve as a versatile stand up edge rusher in a 3-4.

5th round. Ladarius Green, TE, Louisiana-Lafayette

Tall, lankey receiving tight end with solid blocking skills. Bennetts replacement.

6th round. Eddie Whitley, FS, Virginia Tech

Well coached and like all VT'ers, a decent special teamers.

7th round. Jeffrey Demps, RB, Florida

I've taken shits bigger than this kid, but he's lightening fast. Could be a utility-style player as a runner, receiver, and returner... a la whatever that guy who plays for New Orleans who's like 5'6" or whatever. WGAS, it's a 7th rounder. Why are you even still reading this?

ehh

I do like the 3rd, 5th, and 7th round picks.

Dennard was nowhere as good as Amukamara last year and he slipped in the draft and hasn't impressed at all.

I don't like my first round pick anymore.

Of course, I made that thinking we'd be drafting in the 20's.
