So what happens if Murray gets like 18 TDs and 6ypc but Jason (bc let's face it, Linehan is still implementing a scheme that Jason wants) gives him such limited opportunities that his yards are barely 1000 but his recs are like 50. He makes the pro bowl and is responsible for more output than Dez. What if defenses find better ways of managing Dez in this offense and Romo has to redistribute the wealth and Dez ends with like 900 yards and like 5 TDs. Who gets a more favorable extension?

In that case, I would bet that Jerry drops the franchise tag on Murray and still signs Dez long term.

I just don't see that scenario playing out that way.

I would think in the modern NFL you don't overpay the Running Back. I like Murray but you can find a younger, cheaper RB.

Look at Calvin Johnson's stats in Detroit past few seasons. Dez having miniscule numbers is highly unlikely.

Murray will get paid if he has another yr like last yr, but I think every agent in football knows that huge dollar contracts for RB's are a thing of the past. I don't see him getting so much money that we couldn't afford to keep him if we wanted to.

Dez isn't going anywhere.

Gruden is going to clean house next year.

Tyron and Dez stay.

Murray has to give a discount or he's gone.

Carr, Carter, Church (probably not but I wish), Mincey, Spencer, Durant, Bernadeau, Free, Parnell gone. Claiborne possibly.

love dez but i'd almost rather let him walk and spend that money elsewhere. you can do alot of good on defense with that money paying pass rushers and safeties. depth MFer. Dez is exciting, he puts butts in the seats, but I think passing on throwing a huge chunk of your cap at wideouts is the right team-building move.

I was trying to be nice, but you're a fucking idiot if you truly believe this.

I'm a firm believer that you win with qb, oline and defence. A good qb will be able to get by with subpar talent at the skilled positions. That said, I love dez and don't want him to leave.

Also, I don't see Dez having CJ numbers ever because Stafford will just throw it up for him and Tony isn't gonna do that.

To a degree, I would agree with that, but this team is pass first, and run... well, sometime. No way Dez walks.

Id pay whatever the fuck Dez wants.

You dont let go of a mega-wide receiver in his prime.

The kid finally has his shit together.
