I'd say he deserves some of the blame too. This is clearly the most talent he has ever had, and the results mirror the same things he has done everywhere else.

1st rd picks on defense: Ware, Spencer, Carpenter, Spears, Newman, Jenkins
2nd rd picks on defense: Carter, Lee, Burnett
3rd picks on defense: Hatcher, Jason Williams

They also drafted a probowl NY in Jay Ratliff, signed as a rookie f/a a very high quality 3-4 DE (Bowen). Lissemore and Brent both look like capable players. Granted the 2009 draft turned out bad, but they did use 7 of the 12 picks on defensive players. They've also invested some free agent dollars into some players.
