You're the only person I know who takes the statement this literally. It's micro, not macro. Its never been "the top statistical defense wins championships."

The winning team last night is the one whose defense held the opponent to 50 total 2nd half yards after the quick touchdown, while collecting a SB-tying record, 7 sacks. The Rams defense won them this game.

Defense wins championships. Period. And it happened again.

Is the Rams defense good or is the Bungles OL just lousy? I mean they did just allow 70 sacks for the season (counting the postseason, in which they gave up 19 in 4 games)

My point went right over your head as usual. You intimated that "defense wins championships" and if that's true, then shouldn't the BETTER defensive teams over a course of a season win more championships? That clearly has not been the case. Neither the Rams nor the Bengals were anything more than average defensively this year.
