I posted a couple times that I still think the Egals wouldn't have been in the SB had they played Minnesota & Detroit INSTEAD of LA & Washington.

You can't convince me they would have defeated both of those elite teams, let alone NOT playing them in Philly. LA & the Commanders gave 2nd seed Egals, home field advantage & a free ride to the SB. Change my mind!

1977 was a bit of a strange season overall. Only 3 teams won 11 or more games (Dallas, Denver and Oakland)

We beat the Broncos twice in a month that yr. Most people forget we beat them in week 14 that season too.

I think the Bears and Vikings were 9-5 that yr but Fran Tarkenton got hurt late in the season and missed the playoffs.
