So who do propose as this more than above average LB?

I prefer we try hard and responsibly in the draft for once to fix our needs.

This team should have been drafting OLBs every year.

Why/ when has he ever done anything to make you think that?

He was huge disappointment in Miami and has some injury history issues.

He is also pushing 30, he is the kind of guy you sign for depth at this point.

because he's a JAG. he was a JAG in Miami and was actually the opposite of a huge disappointment.

You can do that and still Franchise Spencer, that way you are not reaching.

I guess Mid was right, you did not actually read the article.

A 2nd round pick being a Jag is a disappointment, at least to me.

And I guess the Miami coaching staff agreed as well because he was waived in 2009.

it's better than a first round pick being a Spencer JAG and then paying franchise money to ur jag. sometimes u move on from jags and draft Koa Misi to be your next jag.

But you are over-spending in doing that. Needlessly I might add.

I read the article, it's stupid, you can accomplish all that was set forth in it and more by using the franchise money elsewhere. You could realistically bring in 3 players for that money (a good vet, solid depth, and rookie) and who knows? Maybe that rookie might be the answer at SOLB.

lol

My point exactly, I am not advocating this happens with Spencer I just don't think he is a JAG like people make him out to be.

I can see the merit in the line of thinking the article lays out.

Well why would that stop her? She hasn't watched Kowalski either and yet felt inclined to offer up a very extensive opinion.

Did you read the article at all?

I read it.

His #2 OLB argument is just ridiculous. Ranking him against #2s without acknowledging that these guys are #2 because someone else outperformed them is just stupid. What do you we have, 12 - 13 teams running a 3-4 and Spencer checks in as the "3rd best" #2?

It's dumb. Ware will make like 5M this year. Of course his cap hit (which is the only thing that matters, IMO) is 10.5 or so but it doesn't change the fact that Spencer will make about double what Ware will make for the 2012 season.

Hello?? Anybody heard of the NFL draft?

Seriously, tagging a guy because a JAG on the free agent market is all you can hope for is fucking ridiculous.

Apparently you dont understand how this works.

Just because he gets the tag (if he even does, which is still probably a longshot) it doesnt mean we're committed to signing him

Do you really think Spencer would be cool with signing a 1 year deal for under 8k?

Hate him or not, he'd get more on the open market, without question.

He wouldnt get more on the open market if he got the franchise tag though, because he'd never get to the market

He'd either sign the deal or have to sit out and make nothing. I kinda doubt he would do the latter.
