No, I agree it wasn't a good use of resources there

Well thats what I was referring to. Lack of talent or misuse is of little consequence IMO. It was a wasted pick at a non premium position when we had glaring needs elsewhere.

I'm not convinced he's some uber talented prospect who will shine on another team, or once given a chance. But if he is, then that is an incredibly poor reflection on our coaching staff for his continued underutilization.

Not really sure how you would know. When he's on the field they almost never throw to him, even when he runs out for a pass and is open.

Goodness knows we don't need another season ending injury but if it happened to Witten I wouldn't be surprised to see him put up some Fantasy worth numbers...

This is how you know. If they thought he was effective he'd get the ball.

On a team with Dez Bryant, Jason Witten and Terrance Williams, not necessarily

Are you suggesting the coaches feel hes effective but refuse to pass him the ball?

If they had this mindset, how did they determine Terrance Williams was effective?

Escobar hasn't even shown a glimmer of talent. Bennett was poorly utilized by shitbox Garrett. Should have kept him instead of replacing him with a shitty mexican version.

I think what I've been "suggesting" all along is they drafted a guy in the 2nd rd, promised to not waste him and utilize whatever skills he had and then hardly played him. His snap counts in the games show that.

When he is finally on the field, he rarely is used in downfield routes and even when open, the QB throws the ball to other guys. And the others guys we have are pretty good.

If he gets a chance as the #1 TE, I'm quite sure he'd prove worthy of the pick we used on him, but that may never happen here.
