I think long term. I know I shouldn't because Jerry isn't thinking long term and hasn't prepared this team past it's current window, but my opinions are how a real franchise should be run, not how this one is run.

Yeah, I agree the trenches are more important. I just don't know the the context in which Stephen was talking. I do believe this front office takes things as a year by year basis, without much future planning. Or very short sighted future planning at best.

There's always that one prospect who falls. The question is who? I thought last year we may have jumped on a few prospects who fell and we looked in another direction.

I get the need for a safety, but there are much bigger needs IMO. I look at the Bears and what they have done at safety over the years and they never really had a difference maker back there...guys like Conte and Steltz were fine. Not going to be exactly the same scheme, but similiar.

You take Warmack, and have Hatcher play LDE. And hopefully draft Sylvester WIlliams.

You know I like that scenario, but it would be a tough decision. Cooper's pretty damn good too. He can play center and guard.

And just the thought of passing on Sheldon Richardson or Ankeil Ansah would bother me just a little. Getting Williams though would make it a good first two rounds.

Not for nothing, carp, but Lynch wasn't a mediocre player in Kiffin's scheme. I see your point with Chicago though. Then again any great front seven can make a safety look good.

We've had a need at safety since Woodson retired.

Is a good thing Stephen knows how to type up extensions. Has Church had his surgery yet?

He hasnt been as short sighted when it comes to the draft though. If he were, he'd have never let us draft guys like Sean Lee and Bruce Carter. 1st round pick quality talents who fell into the 2nd round because there were questions about their rookie year playing status. If all he thought about then was "today", he'd have passed on those guys for someone else.
