In my younger days I drove drunk plenty. But I always knew I was drunk, and I drove safe (read: paranoid) as a result.

I didn't try to jump curbs in excess of 100 miles per hour.

I have some sympathy for Brent ... if he could take it all back, he would. I'm sure he's full of regret.

But I agree with your point Mid ... about the inclination to drive paranoid when under the influence. It does seem strange that Brent was speeding so recklessly too.

I can only guess that he was hammered out of his mind when he drove (well beyond garden variety drunk).
