He made this move because that's the only thing he can do at this point.
It doesn't change a damn thing really.
So, what are you saying?
Do you think he sits here today viewing Garrett as merely holding the fort until the offseason or as the new guy for the future?
I know Matt Mosley was on ESPN Radio this morning before the firing and stated no way will Garrett be the head coach next year. Jerry can't sell it. The new guy has to be someone from the outside.
After his press conference, I'm hoping he's our guy in 2011 and longer.
I think he's going to be one hell of a coach.
All the talk radio shows around here seem to think Garrett is merely a bridge to a big name coach in the offseason.

I think they underestimate the ego of Jerry Jones. Of course he wants to keep Garrett. That would mean more pretending that he can run a football team.
And Garrett is stubborn.
That is why on Sunday we will witness more of Barber and giving up on the run way too early. And this pass happy Dallas team will lose again.
I guess we'll see. I'm sure some of you would be quite happy to see another blowout loss.
I'll be Grinch smiling.
I hope the Giants are up by 5 touchdowns at halftime.
The owner is closer to making a real change than he's been since he took the team hostage 16 years ago. I don't want him having one single positive thought on this team heading into the offseason.
Thats fine, but I'd prefer that Garrett be the real longterm answer as HC, here.
Seeing him get away and then become a highly successful coach elsewhere would be really crappy.
Regardless of who ends up HC, Jerry is probably going to be stepping back a bit I suspect.
