We have no difference maker on the DL...none of those guys can get pressure on their own. If Ryan had a legitimate DE or DT this defense would look completely different.

Yeah. As much as I like Ratliff, he's too small to man the nose. He's a talented, high effort guy but he wears down. I'd love to have a Casey Hampton type in that spot. We've talked for years about wanting to see Ratliff at end. He'd be great out there.

Can't put all the blame on the man with the big gut. You can't make chicken salad out of chicken shit. There is still a lot of pieces from the worse defense in Cowboys history last year still playing on Sundays with a star on their helmet. I never expected a worse to first scenario overnight regardless of who the D-coordinator was to be.

Since in almost every 3-4 scheme, none of the DL do much rushing the passer I would disagree.

And while Ratliff's exposed somewhat vs the run, nobody discounts his ability as a pass rusher. He's been named one of the 3 or 4 best interior rushing DT's in football for several years now, and he's hardly a factor here.

Not having Lee definitely hurt, but before he got hurt in the Eagles game they were running all over us too. It wasnt all against Brooking and James.

I get that, but one of the benefits he was supposed to bring was aggressive schemes and creative blitzing/rushing packages that would create more opportunities to pressure the Q
B.

And regardless of how one looks at the talent here alone, the fact is its VASTLY better overall than anything he had in Oakland and Cleveland.

Hopefully he starts pushing the right buttons again quick.

Eagles game plan was just terrible, not much to say about that. He went with a bad scheme and got out coached. Andy Reid is 13- 0 after a bye, hard to argue with that.

He needs to get in their ass for sure and get this run game figured out.

They do not penetrate against the run either, so it is not just rushing the pass that they are having issues. I understand what the 3-4 offers for the DL, but when your sack leader on the DL has 2, that is an issue.

I tire of people telling me that 3-4 DL do not put up sack numbers...they can...and wehn Bowen and Carriker are doing a better job of it that out DL, that is a problem.

Saying Rob Ryan is the worst coordinator since Campo is just retarded. And after only 8 games. And where he had no offseason to intall his scheme. And where he actually looked decent until he lost Lee, leaving us with Brooking and James. Also, covering for injuries in the secondary at the start of the season.

Zimmer was shitty. Nothing but smoke and mirrors. Wade had a nice stretch at the end of '09. Other then that, he was way too predictable and repeatedly got run over. And do we even want to talk about Brian Stewart?

You have called me retarded like 3 times this week and haven't made a single point yourself....

Don't forget that Rob has to cover for a lot of deficiencies on the defensive side of the ball, plus it's a new scheme.

As Wade found out, and Rob is now doing, is that you can't bring the kitchen sink on the blitz if everyone except for Ware is getting blocked, and even he is at times. Esp with this shitty secondary.

The secondary is not as bad as people make it out to be.

I think Rob Ryan is scheming around it, which is why.

He isn't leaving Sensy too deep with too much area to cover. And we currently have one corner on the bench who can keep receivers from making catches. Scandrick and Newman hardly ever do it, they are catch and drag down tacklers.

Ratliff has been getting great penetration against the run the last 3 games but he is the only one and the RB has been able to avoid the tackle.

With Hatcher back hopefully he will have some help om the D-line, Bowen has only 1.5 more sacks while Hatcher has missed 3 games.

With that said I would be looking to upgrade from Coleman and Spears this offseason.
