no not really, I just think much like dez bryant he is way overhyped and has kind of been promoted to the big boy table before they have earned it.

Lot of season left for both to get it together.

I understand all that, just think the eagles have the kinds of players like the giants who are inconsistent and play their best when their is trash talk or guarantees etc....it really emotionally charged them up last week and it was pretty obvious.

I am not even sure your wrong because I think both Zimmer and Phillips were above average coordinators but I am not writing Ryan off after only 8 games in and him having to deal with injuries and no off season.

Based on his time in Oakland and cleveland and from what we have seen so far this year.

Wade Phillips has the number 1 defense in the league right now, not that it means all that much but he clearly is a positive so far for them.

So we just forget about Phillips defenses having the same issues while in Dallas or that Zimmer had huge pass rush issues as well.

The Texans are not #1 and have only played 1 above average offense and they got destroyed, sometimes you need to look a little deeper than the numbers.

This D is tied for 5th in sacks so it seems you just have a issue with Ryan so I will leave you too that.

You're not saying anything too bold here. Wade and Zimmer are both considered great DC's around most of the league.

Yeah our game vs Philly is looking REALLY ugly now.

Everyone pointed to the New England game as a sure sign that Ryan's defense was great, but everyone is stopping New England now, and the Stealers and Giants stopped them rather easily with alot of injured guys out.

If we had played against anyone but Tarvaris Jackson Sunday, we might have given up another 30-35 points, and the run defense the last two games has been beyond pathetic. The other huge issue is the lack of pass rush, even vs the two teams who had given up the most sacks in the league at the time we played them, we got a combined total of TWO in those games.

Not having Lee definitely hurt, but before he got hurt in the Eagles game they were running all over us too. It wasnt all against Brooking and James.

I get that, but one of the benefits he was supposed to bring was aggressive schemes and creative blitzing/rushing packages that would create more opportunities to pressure the QB.

And regardless of how one looks at the talent here alone, the fact is its VASTLY better overall than anything he had in Oakland and Cleveland.

Hopefully he starts pushing the right buttons again quick.

Wade had more than one nice stretch in 09, his defense was pretty good most of his time here, save the first half of 2008 (when they fired Stewart, and Wade took over and the defense got alot better) and then the first half of 2010, which was awful Stewart was never really the DC though IMO, he was a Wade puppet.

The problem I have with Ryan is the defense seems to be getting worse, not better. You would have thought it'd be just the opposite. Seattle could have scored 30+ easily if they'd have even had an average QB out there Sunday.
