They committed about as well as we did.

We had 36 passes and 26 rushes. They had 44 passes 16 rushes.

We rushed 42% of the time they rushed 27% of the time.

Also, our DL is much better than theirs. They rely on superior coverage to get to the QB and stop the run while we rely on a strong front 7. Ware had two sacks because he is a beast while their sacks mostly came because Romo had no where to throw the ball.

They are a power running team we are not, they were taken out of the running game by superior play.

I love how before the game we didn't stand a chance against the superior Jets and after it we got beat by chumps.

I wasn't worried about this game when the schedule first came out because I know what kind of team the Jets are. I trusted Jerry, Garrett, and Ryan to make this team better than it was last year so I expected to win this one. I lost all hope for this one when the roster was gutted to get under the cap and no respectable talent was brought in to fill the gaps. For me this game was never about who the Jets were, they aren't world class. This is about what the Cowboys are not, and right now they are not a winning team.

24 pts, 400 yds, easily could have been 30 or more pts...QB had a rating over 100 despite a pick included

This against whats been the best pass defense in football the past two years

OL played pretty well...wasnt flawless, but they performed pretty well...otherwise Romo doesnt get anywhere near those numbers.

Because Romo has never put up those kinds of numbers with a bad o-line, amirite? You are trying to form an argument based on arbitrary stats.

Then your a ******, just like I said yesterday.

If they guy ahd been horrible, Romo wouldnt have had the kind of game he had most of the night.

He's right actually.. if you watch the game again and focus on Nagy you'll see what he's talking about.

Remember the Ditka draft deal for Ricky Williams?

I'm thinking we do the same thing and give the team with the #1 pick in 2012 all of our picks for the right to draft Andrew Luck. Pick up the other players you needs via free agency. At least you can start to rebuild the team with a very talented QB who also happens to be in the near genius category. He also has superb character from what I've read about him

I'm not even blaming Romo for the fumble because he should have been handing the football off for 3 straight plays. Instead Garrett gets cute once again with the play calling and we blow a chance to put the Jets away. It's time to pull your head out of the clouds Mr. Princeton and put your Ivy league education away. It's very simple. If you are inside the 5 yard line you RUN THE FRIGGING BALL ON EVERY PLAY. SHOVE THE BALL DOWN THE OTHER TEAMS THROAT!

I would also like to know why the offense couldn't get the ball snapped more than 2 seconds before getting a penalty for delay of game? It seemed like every play was rushed because the play clock was winding down to the point the other team gets a perfectly timed jump off the line which leads to sacks and pressure which Romo doesn't need with his decision making skills.

Who gives two fucks?

What was the FINAL SCORE of the game?

That is ALL that matters.

BY KEVIN ARMSTRONG
DAILY NEWS SPORTS WRITER

The ground-and-pound approach of the Jets' offense, a punishing, ball-moving scheme that has led the team to consecutive AFC Championship Games, fizzled Sunday in the season-opening win over the Cowboys, unable to counter the Dallas charge.

"Obviously we thought we were gonna run the ball more than we did," Rex Ryan said. "They kind of took that away from us."

The Jets attempted 44 passes to just 16 runs, an uneven play-call sheet dictated by Ryan's twin brother, Rob, the new defensive coordinator for Dallas, and his display of blitzes and stunts the Jets never saw on film before taking the field. Instead of exploding through gaps, tailback Shonn Greene, who rushed for 26 yards on 10 carries, met Cowboys, be they linebackers or defensive backs, crowding crevices he typically exploits. Third-down back LaDainian Tomlinson fared no better, gaining 16 yards on five carries.

"I don't want our numbers to ever be like that," Ryan said.

Greene, now in his third year, admitted being frustrated at the inability to find a way past the Cowboys' fronts.

"They had a good beat on our running game," Greene said.

I have to be honest... this very idea has crossed my mind as well.

I'd sacrifice a draft if it meant landing a near sure-fire quarterback like Andrew Luck.

This is all fantasy, as it would never happen... but I bet we wouldn't even have to give up our entire draft. Offer the #1 team Romo and a collection of draft picks, and I'm sure they'd make the trade. Depending on where we pick, Romo, our 1, 2, and 3 might get the deal done.

Keep 4-7 because, quite frankly, we draft better there than we do in the front end anyway.

I doubt the team with the #1 pick makes that deal. They are going to be coming off an obviously awful season and the one thing they will be able to sell their fans (ticket sales) is Andrew Luck. Could you imagine them saying: "Yeah we were awful but we just got Tony Romo!". They would burn the stadium down.

Also, I feel we draft okay in the 1st round. It's 2 through 5 we struggle.

Well, like I said, it'd never happen for a lot of reasons. As a Cowboys fan, I'd be all for it though.

The more I think about it, I hope we do go QB in either round 1 or 2 this year.

Check out ASU's Brock Osweiler. He's 6'8" but is very athletic (had scholarship offer from Gonzaga for basketball). With the NFL's new CBA, which allows Unrestricted Free Agency after 4 years, I expect more underclassmen to declare. That should push a few pretty good QB's to us in the 2nd round.

I don't want to start over with a qb everyone already passed on

I wonder if luck wouldve entered the draft if the cowboys were picking #1 last year

Once you get to the 20's those are the better teams and usually don't need QB's. The teams picking 33 through 40 are pretty awful and some of them probably went QB in the 1st round. Nothing wrong with getting your "QB of the future" in the upper half of the 2nd round.

Look at the history of qb's in round 2. I just posted all the desirable qb's in the league and all are 1st rounders and Brady/romo.

Qb's too important to hand the keys to the 50th best player in their draft.
