We had a game where the defense gave up 136 TOTAL yards and only 2.5 yds per play. That same team had 142 PENALTY yards.

AND WE LOST (at home too)

Last game we scored a TD in the opening quarter?

Atlanta, 9th game of the season. No 1st quarter TD's since.

For the season there were only 4 or 5 games where we scored 1st quarter TD's, and in only one game this season did we score more than 7 pts in the first quarter.

Yet the freaking mindless boob HC took the football EVERY time we won the toss this yr until last week vs Philly.

how about points allowed with 2 minutes or less remaining in the 2nd and 4th quarters??

You mean without the constant media grin? Of course not.

I didn't hear the interview, but I know exactly the tone he said it with: That bland robotic one where he says we all have to take accountability and get better. IOW, he didn't genuinely believe it. It was just more lip service.

He'll be fighting, scratching and clawing to get better TE, don't you worry

Welp, Red said after that thumping they gave the 2nd string Egirls on Sunday, was that a refocus was needed. Shouldnt be a problem with the exact same coaching staff coming back.

Jerry said those coaches will do a better job of coaching the players up, didn't you hear?

In all seriousness guys, I know we've had our eyes wide open for a while now on this board, but how much does Jerry spitting in fans' faces like this affect the bigger fan population? Do you think even more casual fans are getting sick of it, or do they even pay enough attention to realize what's happening?

I don't know what you've found down there, yim, but every year for the last 10 years or so I've gone to a DFW bar/restaurant to watch games, and this year I was shocked at how down the turnout was. The last few years for a 3:30 game, if you weren't early you were walking a quarter mile from where you had to park. Even the terrible 2015 season was pretty busy until the last few games. Last year was crazy. But this one, even at 8-6, there were way fewer fans and parking was no problem.

I'm sure some of that was the anthem stuff, but I wonder if more people are waking up.

Probably not, but I can hope.

I hope they are but even guys like us have a homer inside of us that the minute the team seems to be doing something right, we can't help but hope against our inner logic that things might finally be different so we come back for the eventually ball busting finish and jeri gets the eyeballs to keep keeping on.

What we really need is a terrible run of bad seasons for any chance of breaking through the jones clans ineptitude

plus no matter what's going on, the friggin media keeps sticking a microphone in front of jeris festering gob hole. I think he's afraid of losing that limelight more than anything. If fans everywhere would tune out from any articles, interviews, radio shows where the jones are being interviewed, that would probably hit jeri the hardest

the problem is fans can't unite for shit and just end up arguing over who is a real fan when being presented with any kind of action that could penetrate the jones defenses

i hate being a fan of this fucking jeri jones owned team but I have no other options as they're the only team/sport I really care about and that's how jeri has made billions and can continue to stick his nose up at all the cowboy fans that despise him

I think they are clearly sick of it. While viewership for Cowboys games stays strong nationally, I've read multiple articles in recent weeks that Cowboy ratings LOCALLY (to Dallas) are WAY down.

I started watching the Cowboys when I was 8 and have loved them ever sense. Conversely my 13 yr old son couldn't care less about it even though he sees me sitting there watching the team every Sunday. Numerous other people I know with kids see similar situations. People just don't care. There is more apathy towards the team than ever before IMO (the only time it would be similar is maybe late 80's before Jones and Jimmy came along, but then the team had no talent to create any interest and the Cowboys were left out of virtually every national broadcast because they were so awful and because nationwide interest the NFL in general was so high. I's different now because Jones has his star players that generate interest, and the league needs the Cowboys on TV to save their ratings asses because of all the other shit going on)

Man, I basically don't care anymore. After enough years of Jerry and Garrett serving us dogshit and telling us with a smile it's delicious chocolate pudding, I may be broken for good. Sad for someone who loves football so much and has rooted for this team since he was 8 or 10 years old, but hey, I didn't ask for this. Jerry did it.

I do still like following and talking about the team, and I like you guys, so I still do this. If Jerry ever made real changes and not just window dressing, I might come back. But after so many years of this I don't even know about that anymore.

It's sad, really sad.

My guess is that 70-80% of all our points given up this season were given up in the last two minutes of each half

I feel ya man, I haven't watched a game live since things went to shit in the Atlanta game

As angry and disgusted as I am, I still care and wish somehow, someway things could be solely about winning football again with competent people in charge I could not only trust but root for as well.

Even in the instances where the Cowboys do something good I feel conflicted because I despise ownership so badly

Following this team mostly just makes me angry. I'm sick in the head because I just can't completely stop. I guess its because they're like family to me. I grew up a quarter mile from the practice facilities on forest lane, went to school with players kids, knocked on their doors to get autographed pictures from the players wives, stood on egg crates to watch practice when the hotel ran us off from watching from their balconies. We dug through the dumpster to find old pads, uniforms and other junk and then waited outside to talk to Staubach, Dorsett, et al as they left practice. As far back as I can remember, the Cowboys were a big part of my life and now they've been kidnapped and ruined by a drunken blowhard who I think hates the very people that contributed greatly to his wealth because they won't crown him as their football czar so he clings on even tighter, bound and determined to prove us wrong before he leaves this earth.

Judging by the change in attitude of the Zone, I'd say next year will be a disaster for Jerry attendance, ratings, and merchandise sales wise. The only people defending this crap are only doing so because it gives them the chance to appeal to authority, and berate the level of fandom of others. Even some of those types have had enough.

I looked over there and you're right, even they seem to have turned on Garrett and Jerry. A couple years ago I'd bet they were 90% for Garrett, and now it almost seems just the opposite.

That gives me a little hope.

Saying that accountability starts with him is NOT the same as him being held accountable. It's accepting blame as a way of deflecting criticism: you cannot come down any harder on me, than what I've done on myself.

ALL accountability starts and ends with him, and never goes beyond. If he was truly accountable, he'd be out of a job long before now. Only someone safe and secure in his job could say some bullshit like this and it not mean anything,

You should check out the Cowboys' board on FB. They're as hostile (no pun intended) to both Jerry and Garrett as we are on here.
