I'm disappointed in Roy, but I can't hate on him like everyone else seems to be.

He's doing and saying a lot of the right things, as far as I'm concerned. And I applaud him for both thinking he's still the #1 receiver and #2 suggesting Dez will have to dominate to replace him. I'd rather a receiver be competitive and have that fight in him.

Everyone, including him, knows he has to back it up. I don't think he can. You're average rookie receiver, sure. But Dez is special. Roy won't be able to perform at the monster level neccessary to keep DB off the field.

Here's my problem Midswat. It seems like NOW Roy wants to turn it on. Why should someone have to push you to be better? What I mean is, that you should push your own self to be better because you ahve that in youi that you want to be the best that you can. Otherwise, you're half-assing it.

Thats a good point. I think Roy has gotten by his entire life by simply being better than the competition. In the NFL, he doesn't have that luxury. I definitely think he's half-assed it a lot, hence the poor route running.

I'm disappointed in Roy, much like I was in Parcells. Loved the acquisition, but haven't been happy with the on field results. I'm still holding out hope that Roy will be productive, but obvious that production will never warrant his salary. I am encouraged by what I saw against Houston. He had three receptions, and drew a flag on what would've been a touchdown pass. Should've been PI, but was called holding I believe.

If he can net 3 receptions a game as our #2 receiver, then color me happy.

What turned me off was how dismissive he was with Irvin when Irvin was trying to help in giving him some pointers. He is going to have a hissy fit and run to the media because Bryant would not carry his pads, and yet he is going to dismiss Irvin? Roy needs all the people in his camp that he can get and doing that to Irvin, did not help his cause.

I'm disappointed in Roy, but I'm more disappointed in Jerry for giving up so much for a player like him. What a stupid move.

Jerry is a master businessman and can build stadiums like the one we have, but on the other hand he can make insane trades like this one and also sign players (Pacman, Tank, TO) that are ticking time bombs. It's like sometimes he lives in a fantasy land.

About Roy . . . yeah, in hindsight, we gave up too much. But at the time, getting a compliment to TO was a must. And everyone thought Roy was the real deal, 90% of fans included. Most fans referred to him as The Real Roy Williams.

Regarding Tank and Pacman . . . they were no risk signings. You get a chance to get a potential stud cornerback and returner for a 5th rounder, you do it. We signed Tank for peanuts, and he was a disruptive DT with the Bears.

Owens wasn't a mistake, production wise. And he was released when he became a cancer. I see nothing wrong there.

Tank, maybe. Pacman, fuck no. As far as TO, well the thing most people predicted happened. Surprise.

As far as a complement to TO, well I still disagree with trading for a player like Roy. It hasn't done us one bit of good.

You do realize that you are one of Roy's 7 total fans, right?

I'm not a fan of Roy. I'm a fan of the Dallas Cowboys. Players mean shat to me. They're pieces you use to achieve a goal. They come and go. I don't get attached to them. If you can find a better piece than the one we have, I'll shatcan ours for the other.

I support Roy in this because he's on the side of the team. Dez Bryant is on an island by himself. Too important, apparently, to be subjected to the typical rookie hazing all players go through to earn their stripes in the NFL.

It was a complete and total bitch move. It shows a glaring lack of maturity to not recognize the situation in it's proper context.

I don't look at most players like that. I don't care if Roy is on the team. I can't stand him. I applaud Bryant for refusing to carry his shoulder pads. Roy hasn't done much more for this team than Bryant has. Let the punk carry them himself. He doesn't deserve any respect.

I'll guarantee you the players supported Roy in that.

And tell me, Jon, do you also hate Jerry Jones?

Because he was the guy responsible for that trade.

No, I don't hate Jerry. I'm just very disappointed.

I don't know why you ask. You call him the oil salesman.

Figures.

You don't hate the guy who made the move a reality. You hate the player who had no hand in coming to Dallas for that price.

Why? Because you're a homer and know Roy can be replaced. You're stuck with Jerry. So you slap lipstick on that pig.

I mean, no offense. But that's how I see it.

I can't imagine them siding with someone who half asses everything.

I doubt a single veteran on this team thinks it's okay that Dez Bryant can refuse rookie hazing when they all had to go through it in some form or fashion.

Who the hell is Dez Bryant? He hasn't done a thing in this league yet. Man up and carry the pads. They'll be carrying yours every other year in your career. It's how the NFL works and nobody is above it.

You're seeing it wrong. I don't like Roy Williams because of what he's done since arriving here. Let's see...He blows off Irvin when he tries to help, never properly learns the playbook or gets a rapport with Romo, runs lazy routes which half the time aren't correct, drops balls, and has a bad attitude.

Jerry's made a lot of bad moves, but I don't hate him. I hate the moves.

He said he wasn't familiar with the custom. Maybe if Roy wasn't such a bitch he could have made it clear to him.

The only thing I can really criticize Roy for was apparently refusing help from Michael Irvin. Which is just idiotic, if true.

Other than that, I think he's been a pretty stand up dude.

When I think of how bad the trade was I don't look to Roy. I look to Jerry. He made it happen.

Who says he didn't make it clear?

And who the hell doesn't know about rookie hazing? I'd say that was Dez trying to talk his way out of a very dumb move.

Great football player. Really sensitive guy. He reminds me of Donovan McNabb. But with human teeth.

lol

We'll just have to agree to disagree about Williams because I completely disagree and I don't feel like talking about him anymore.
