Not that Whaley was going to be a world beater or anything, but it seems odd to release a DT when we're weak there for another WR who probably won't make any noise here with the guys in front of him.
When we signed him as a UDFA it was widely reported he was going to be on IR all year.
The article I read said as long as he clears waivers, he will be brought back and put on IR
