If the only reason for a rule is "who's it hurting" it's a silly rule and you know it. It doesn't bother me, interview a tranny for all I care. Just dont pretend like in 2012 We need it

You don't care, but you started a thread to basically say...hey, we got enough of those black coaches already.

I do think there is a disservice at certain points when teams bring in a Denny Green type just to fill the quota, when you know that person is not going to get the job. I do think it is good when a GM interviews quite a few candidates...that way they don't just lock in on the good old boy network and it also prepares younger coaches for future job interviews, whether they are black or white.

Don't be a dick. I don't care if we have 32 black coaches. I just don't see the point for the interview process.


Then again I'm younger and growing up In a More socially advanced society than most.

I prefer the Andy Rooney Rule. Every team should have a irascible old fuck patrolling the sideline.

I agree with MB4th that the Rooney Rule seems to no longer be needed.

I get that the NFL is comprised of nealry 65% black players. But being a player doesn't qualify you as a coach. What's the addage... "Those that can't do, teach?"

I would hope that, in 2012, we can acknowledge that as a society it is wrong to require preferencial practices based solely on someones race.
