Nobody actually believed them when they said "cyst surgery" in May and Tony was still recovering at the end of camp.

Wasn't the "cyst surgery" 2 offseasons ago? (Not this last offseason)

We had the "cyst" removed, then played a 15 game season until the back went out, then had the disk surgery this last Feb. I'm pretty sure.

That's correct, although I'm not sure the "cyst" story is really accurate anymore. Like many others, its my belief that whatever he had done was far more serious.

IRVING, Texas -- Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo is missing his first practice of the regular season as he takes a day of rest for his surgically repaired back. :facepalm

I think we'll all have an answer by the middle of October.

Something is off right now. Either he needs more time to get his legs back under him, or he's lost his legs and this is it.

^^^that's the biggest thing Broaddus sees that is wrong with him. Said the way he meets RBs to exchange the football shows that his back is pretty sound, according to him. His legs seems to be the weak link; again, according to Broaddus.

MacMahon and the cowardly Steve Dennis had a radio show tonight, and they both sounded very concerned about him missing today. Apparently Garrett suddenly gathered the media together to warn them ahead of time, something he's never done before. They said they've never seen Tony in the weight room and not even on the sideline when missing a practice before. If he had been "sore", they would think maybe he just took a hard shot in the game, but this sudden tightening out of nowhere is different.

I think its a given that he's going to miss some games this year due to this.

I really don't see how they are gonna squeeze 3 or 4 seasons out of him at this point. Frankly I wont be surprised if this ends up his last year.

Wonder what the true salary cap implication is going to be.

Oh it was. It's just that the team has been bullshitting about it for a while.

If we can get one more year out of him, I don't think too bad

It might better if they can't. Need more or less.

If he plays another year they'll restructure his contract and there'd be a hell of a cap charge for his departure.

He doesn't play they can split it and survive as much as possible without a QB. He plays more and they have less to take when he ultimately does break

It's going to take a miracle for him to play 16 games. This is happening after week two? And after a relatively easy game?

If they keep him a bus driver they might be able to get some productive seasons out of him, maybe this one and one more. Might actually be able to win too.

Nervous times in Dallas might be exactly what was needed.... Carrot Top now pretty much forced to run the ball more. Defense not all that sure we can hang a fortyburger on people anymore. Might lead to better things.
