Last year, we signed a guy who couldn't beat out two white safeties for the Jets, showed up to camp out of shape, and was cut.

I'll take my chances on talent like McClain over mega jags like Brodney Pool and Will Allen.

PFT is reporting McClain is retiring to take a year off and get his personal shit together/resolve his legal issues.

When he continues his football career, assuming he has no more arrests etc, then the Ravens will still have his rights.

In the meantime, the move costs them absolutely nothing.
