That's not the point. In fact you are probably in the minority on this. Games are often won or lost on that single point. The thing is... what is there to be gained from getting rid of it, because this asshole has a burr up his ass, and just want to fuck with shit?

This is a great idea for TV and a bad idea for the game.

Theoretically the extra point should only add 30 seconds to the end of the drive. But they use it for a telivision timeout and it is extremely annoying and adds little to the game.

Extra points are a waste of everyone's time. Kind of like an appendix.

Then they shouldnt have divisions. Just go to two "conferences" without any divisions. You cant have divisions and then not reward the team that wins their division, regardless of what their record is.

Besides way more is made out of this than necessary. The teams with better records rarely miss the playoffs. The number of 10-6 and 11-5 teams that miss the playoffs isnt that many. Just like very few teams with a losing record ever make it. (I think twice maybe?)
