After a Sunday night loss to the Cowboys in which he ran well but threw poorly, Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III said he was trying to keep his own counsel.

In a post-game interview with the Redskins Radio Network (via the Washington Post), Griffin said he needed to be instinctive at times.

“Yeah, you know, I’m just really focusing on being the playmaker that I know I can be and not letting anybody else tell me how to play this game,” Griffin said, in response to a prompt about his running plays. “You know, I got here for a reason, and I’ve got to make sure I use all of my abilities to their maximum. And running the ball is one of those, when I do get the opportunity.

“It’s not that I’m looking for it, but if it is there, I will take it.”

It’s possible that it was simply an unfortunate choice of words immediately after a disappointing loss.

But after an offseason spent wondering whether Griffin and coach Mike Shanahan were on the same page (full of denials from both sides), it might also be reasonable to suggest the possibility that it’s a window to what he’s feeling about the way he’s being used, and how he was handled in the playoffs last year and through the preseason this year.

By all means, keep running. Only a matter of time before you're tattooed again.

He needs to set up a meeting with McNabb so he can learn how to choke.

I'd be pissed too if I was getting mikemartzed by my offensive coordinator. He's actually safer running.

Exactly. His accuracy is down this season, and he was particularly off on a couple big 3rd down plays last Sunday. I think he'll get some of that back as he gains more confidence but overall he's just a less dumb version of Mike Vick and we all saw how that career developed...

As with what's happening in SF, the option is just not going to be as effective in the nfl anymore bc teams are starting to murder QBs since they're technically RBs in that situation. Difference is that Kaep is huge and Griffin is not. Either way, RBs don't last past age 28 in this league, and that's what'll happen to some of these QBs too.

He's made some awful decisions, but almost every QB with his limited experience needs his coaches to help him out. Call more shorter routes, flare out a running back or a tight end, give him shallow dig routes or some quicker hitting in routes, do something other than sending every receiver out on a vertical route. Let's be honest though, I'm reading Shakespear to a 6 year old here. You're going to respond with some more giberish babble because you'd be out of your league talking actual football with me. Go educate yourself before I give you anymore undeserved responses.

Now that the game is over, I'll once again be rooting for him to get back on track.

Until next matchup, then I'll be rooting for both knees to be blown out.

I actually don't mind the Redskins.

I can't stand Philadelphia and New York.

There's something off in the body language of the whole team. The roster obviously isn't a superbowl roster but they're still underachieving and it doesn't look like they're responding to the HC. David Shaw has ties to Bruce Allen, just sayin.

The Skins and Dallas were hosed, the Skins most certainly more so the past two seasons. Which makes the Giants not having won a game yet this year all the better since Mara basically used our money to buy another Superbowl and the Karma has come back to bite him in the ass the last two seasons.

As for RG3, I don't like anyone telling me my job either. Especially when he's healthy enough to play the game he likes to play. We all saw how effective he can be. And as for Shanny, I'm so glad we didn't try his ancient retread ass in Dallas when he was available. No superbowl has ever been won by a superbowl winning coach from another team. None.

The game passes them by and they just try and chase the next whomever they had when they struck lightening again. Belechek won't win shit without Brady, even in that laughing stock of a division he plays in.

Seriously, who wouldn't make the play off the last 10 years in that division from ours? Who?

"Less Dumb"?

The guy's pretty fucking smart. At least by academic standards.

I still think he has a bright future ahead of him which sucks for Dallas. Imagine 5 years from now when Dallas has Chad Hutchinson playing QB and they can't even put up 17 points per week.

Guess it's not hard to imagine.......aside from the Denver and STL game, that's pretty much where this Garrett/Callahan Auto play calling machine has been.

RG3 is much better than Vick in terms of passing. It's really not even close. Vick is dogshit, has a dogshit mentality and really only cares about 'good ole #1'.

People like to say he'll be fucked because he CAN run. I don't buy that bullshit. He can pass as well. He's having a down year compared to last year but he's smart enough to be able to learn from it.

If his mobility went to shit, I'd still peg him as a good QB 2-3 years from now because he's intelligent and he can throw the ball.

Yeah, they were hosed for deliberately writing contracts that were fucked up.

And how exactly did Mara "buy" a Superbowl. Like the dogshit Cowboys or Redskins would have changed a fucking thing with some more cap space to waste on Spencer or Ratliff.

Get the fuck outta here with that shit. That's some pussy CZ shit.

RG3 seems like he's extremely smart, and has a good head on his shoulders.

The only thing I can knock him on is, he's a Redskin.
