Need to clear up last tweet. Ray Horton has offers on table to be Dallas DBs coach, and also has offer to be Arizona's D coordinator

I'm not going to get my hopes up. I think he almost has to take the Cardinals job, unless we blow him away financially.

The only appeal to Dallas would be that he'd likely be in line to take our DC job when Ryan leaves, which ought to be no more than 2 years most likely.

More Horton: Ray Horton has an interview scheduled with the Cards. The Cowboys are pursuing him. A third team could be involved as well

Why wouldn't he just stay in Pittsburgh rather than take the same job here?

Money, I suppose.

Could be the chance to be a DC in Dallas at some point is more realistic than being the DC in Pittsburgh.

Keeping that in mind it sounds like he could be the DC in Arizona right now.

He already is the DC of the Cardinals.

For what it's worth, Sirius NFL just reported that he's accepted the job with the Cowboys.

If that's inaccurate, don't blame me...blame Schein and co.

We're going to hold you to that.

I had to rewind and play it again because it caught me by surprise. I didn't figure there was any way in hell he'd turn down a coordinator job.

Maybe Winicki nailed it? I've heard several times that Ryan might very well be one and done here in Dallas and the chance to grab the reins after Ryan takes a HC job somewhere was too much to pass up...

That would be a major coup for the Cowboys.

I'll believe it when I see it. Who the hell turns down a definite coordinator gig for the chance to maybe be one some day in Dallas?

Consider where he would have landed and the how long it will take that team to crawl out of the crapper. Arizona won't be back for another 10 years while Dallas is at least mentioned as a possible contender most season.

I said that about him coming here to coach DBs over staying in Pittsburgh coaching DBs.

You think we're gonna pay our secondary coach more than the Cardinals pay their defensive coordinator?

I don't know about offering more, but if you offer a sizeable chunk and the job is alluring enough, then yeah.

Maybe, they are known to be extremely cheap when it comes to coaching payroll.

If true this is awesome, and who wouldn't want to come coach here for America's Team I mean if you had a choice to coach here or Arizona what would you do?

Maybe he was told he would be a DC here if and when Rob is promoted to head coach.
