Been told could be about 16 million under cap maybe more if things fall right. Could see a target for one player.

nothing new about Jenkins. Asked scouts about him before the season. There are several red flags doesn't sound like Garrett type

If the Cowboys part ways with Spencer, Upshaw appears to be a nice option. He is 265 pounds, rushes passer, plays run.

Upshaw, Kirkpatrick or DeCastro? Anyone one of those players help you right now. Kirkpatrick might be gone.

And these two go together.... Ratliff to DE?

@BryanBroaddus Just want to confirm I'm twear-hustling correctly... team official says team considering moving Ratliff to DE?

@BloggingTheBoys I have talked to several sources that said it is something that they would be talking about. Not done at all. Talking about

This would be an awesome move.

No. It wouldn't be awesome. It'd be about FUCKING TIME.

It's be about common sense.

Fascinating as to what we consider awesome when it comes to this team is just comon sense everwhere else.

He's been the most disruptive player on our defense apart from Ware?

Ratliff is a good soldier but he's consistently said he really likes the nose and the opportunities it affords him to use his quickness to get really quick penetration. I guess this is good if we're trying to spare him some double teams, but I think it would be better to just get better DEs around him.

I got this off another site here.

Norm explains how a clause in the new NFL contract will free up a ton of cap space next season that otherwise would have amounted to over 25 million in dead money.

The Cowboy by cutting all those Offensive lineman this year and being 17 million under the cap this season will be able to apply that unused 17 million next year to wipe out a chunk of that 25 million in dead money that would have counted against next years cap. This combined with the cutting of a couple players like Newman will actually give this team a lot of money to spend next season.

This is worth a listen for Cowboys fans that were concerned by the dead money numbers we were hearing for next season:

Maybe someone could tell what Norm is saying, because my job's firewall is blocking it. From what I read is that cutting Gurode, Davis, and others is a gift that keeps on giving.

I think alot of people are looking at this superficially and stupidly and vastly overestimating the effect this could have on our defense. Just because they operate under the no-thought-required assumption that your NT should be really fat.

Instead of going up against less athletic centers and guards (where he has certain significant advantages) Ratliff gets to match up on tackles/guards. Yippee won't this be great guys? Let's just get a fat guy in the middle and everything will be ok.

Orrrrrrr some fans might have noticed that our interior run defense has been subpar, especially on short-yardage situations. Getting a larger Nose Tackle, with ability, might help with that.

Also, another problem with our D has been a lack of pass rush from our DE's. Ratliff could improve that. I also like the idea of lining up Ratliff at different spots to allow him to find mismatches and be the disruptive force we all know he can be.

Well we'll see if we do it. Might be better off trading him or moving to a 4-3 than doing this.
