Garrett already wasted Romo's career.

He's in the process of wasting Dez's career.

If he sticks around, Elliott's career will be wasted.

1. How is it Dak and Dez had such great chemistry in the preseason, yet he gets 1 catch for 8 yards yesterday?

Sort of a related point - In the preseason, Dak was helped greatly by his receivers who made some high quality catches. Vs. the Giants, Dez and Beasley didn't pull off the tough catches. Witten lost at least one ball in the sun. Who knows why?

2. Going back even into the TO81 days, but is it me or our are elite blue chip receiver too easily turned into complete non-factors under the Garrett offense? If so, why?

I'm sure the scheme is a part of it. Another thing that is pretty huge - Romo generally doesn't throw a great deep ball. He was better at it when he was younger.

FWIW, I've heard a few media types mention that on a few occasions, Dak had receivers open further down the field (including at least one with Dez in single coverage), but Dak either didn't see it or decided to check-down. So maybe some of Sunday was a rookie QB playing it extra safe.

3. Has your tone on EE changed? Why was EE getting 2.5 yards a carry but Alfred Morris running harder/stronger? Still happy we took EE at fourth overall?

I'm disappointed that on Sunday Zeke didn't do as well as he had vs. the Seahawks, but it is too early to pass judgement on him. Some say that the Giants' DL is one of the better ones, at least in the NFC. The Dallas OL did a good job of pass blocking, but the run blocking wasn't so hot. Plus Elliott had only 7 preseason carries. He's got some adjusting to do. He did a fine job pass blocking, for whatever it is worth (of course that on its own isn't worth the #4 pick).

4. Hindsight is 20/20, but did you agree with Garretts use of timeouts prior to the 2 minute warning?

They had enough time to get into a long field goal situation, so I don't know that the usage of timeouts was especially bad.

5. Does it disgust you like it does me that Garrett just ran by TWill and gave him an encouraging back pat immediately post game? With such a bonehead decision, why isn't Garrett pissed and letting a player feel his wrath? What kind of message does this send to everyone else? Or am I overthinking this?

What would have been gained by Garrett going all-Parcells on TWill? You've got TWill for the rest of the year at least. You aren't going to cut him. We also don't know what Garrett said to him later. As it was, TWill seemed to be sincerely feeling awful about it afterwards.

I would have felt better had Garrett had physically kicked TWill in the ass on national TV ... a full, solid, swing of the leg causing Garrett's foot to kick TWill's rump at full velocity. I would have enjoyed seeing it, but I don't know how it would have helped the situation really. If they don't like TWill, they shouldn't re-sign him.

Why can't you cut TWill? Is he Jerry Fucking Rice? No, he's a crap player that can easily be replaced by any idiot out of the stands. I'm tired of this fear to cut loose from fuckheads that aren't worth a damn, and that any UDFA could come in and give you the same, if not better results (see Carr & Claiborne).

I was listening to Nate Newton talk the other day about Elliott's lack of production against the Giants and he made a couple of good points. First, the fact that he barely played in the preseason has had a huge effect. He still needs to develop chemistry with the OL. That's why Morris looked so much better. Also Zeke was too amped for that first game and wasn't patient enough. He needs to slow down and allow his blocks to develop instead of of just running full speed at the line. Again, according to Nate we should see the Zeke we all expect to see by week 3 if not in the Washington game.

Dez has always had a lot of dog in him. That contributes to his bad games.

They fought. They scratched. They clawed.

Sitting in direct sunlight for the best part of 4 hours while watching the Cowboys would make anyone irritable.

Garrett and Linehan both call plays in order to not lose the game, they don't concern themselves with actually winning the game.

Would explain why they settled for field goals instead of actually throwing the ball into the endzone on the first two drives into the redzone. They don't want to have a turnover to lose the game, so the safe chicken shit play is always the field goal.

Which is why I always take Dan Bailey in the 3rd round of any fantasy football draft I'm in.

So why the fuck is he here? Its his 2nd yr returning punts, if they still don't trust him then replace his ass. They had a good return prospect in Swanson and got rid of him. Beasley isn't exactly automatic on these either and has muffed some previously as well, and he's a zero in terms of actually getting any positive yards if he does catch it.

Just another example of Cowboy staff FAIL

Somebody was asking why Whitehead didn't field the last couple punts in the Giants game, it wasn't because Whitehead was injured. they just benched him.

They don't trust Lucky to field the ball in their own end of the field. Thanks to @JJT_ESPNDallas for that.

Its really amazing. They are afraid of their own shadows there.

The only thing that doesn't scare them is gambling on premium draft picks (2nd rounders)
