Once upon a time, I spent nearly an hour on the phone with Directv trying to find a way to get a Cowboys vs Oakland week one preseason game to be broadcast at my house.

I've been watching Canadian football

Jesus.
Me too.
I actually thought the guys doing the commentating were making fun of Canadians.
But they were serious.
And they have a 3 minute warning.
And I think all the teams have the same name.

The first preseason game always brings a certain excitement. Your first chance to see what this team is really about.

Only three downs instead of four, ostensibly was supposed to cut down on running the ball, but all it really does is cause alot more punting.

After reading your romo arguments and your inability to figure out how teams win the division, I'll pass.

Thanks though.
Aww come on, you might gain some valuable insights!

Is there a game today or something?

Yes.
Look at the exciting things NFL.com came up with in their What To Watch For column.

Cowboys at Chargers (10 p.m.)

Tony Romo will don street clothes, but keep an eye on Philip Rivers. The Chargers passer is set to operate one of the NFL's fastest attacks under new coordinator Frank Reich. The play-calling K-Gundisciple wants to challenge opponents with pace after San Diego ran last year's second-slowest offense, per Pro Football Outsiders. After Rivers threw an NFL-low 2 percent of his passes beyond 30 yards, we also expect the Bolts to employ more vertical routes with a faster Keenan Allen in the mix.

Pretty sure, the teams determine who they play in preseason.

I don't think the NFL mandates anyone do something they don't want to.

There is a reason we play the frigging Chargers, Raiders and Dolphins...every year.

And if it wasn't them, it was the Broncos, Vikings or Texans.

But you usually play teams that train near you or are only a few hours away by plane. flying cross-country for a meaningless game is bizarre.
