The Cowboys are in the process of cobbling together their practice squad.

Running back Ryan Williams, who was waived by the team Saturday after leading the team in rushing yards and catches in the preseason, is the biggest name among the group of additions.

Williams, who was not claimed by another team, is among seven players who have been signed to the developmental unit. The others are defensive end Ken Boatright, interior lineman Ronald Patrick, linebackers Will Smith and Keith Smith and cornerback Micah Pellerin.

Of the six, only Pellerin was with another team, the Tennessee Titans, during the preseason. He had a stint with the Cowboys in 2013, serving on the practice squad before being promoted to the active roster and appearing in two games.

The Cowboys still have four openings to fill on the practice squad, which was expanded from eight to ten players this year.

I really don't see how they think Randle is better. I guess they're concerned about Ryan's injury history?

They have to keep Mitchell. He may be sloppy now but he has the right skill and the right build. Silly that they dump Mitchell after keeping Webb for as long as they did.

The first thing these goobs are going to work on with Mitchell is to change his style, so as to extend his career. Ya just can't be trying to be Earl Campbell anymore, delivering blows and running angrily and aggressively. Can't have that.
