“Troy’s right,” Prescott said afterward, after getting walked through the play, and through Aikman’s analysis. “I never took the ball from under center. I did pretty simple stuff out of the gun. Never did a seven-step drop. I just credit the work I put in, every day. The things I didn’t do in college is what [offensive coordinator] Scott Linehan has done with me every day. Just getting coached, working to be better at this level. But that play, that completion, felt good, really good. That’s a good example what I wasn’t asked to do in college, and I’ve taken this coaching and brought it into my game.

This is my suspicion. It's Linehan who is the primary catalyst to Dak being able to manage the plays and being given plays that allow him to succeed. When Dak is not caught off guard he gives a protocol litany of "thank you to coach Garrett, Coach Wilson and coach Linehan". But he spilled the real beans in this article. Let's face it Garrett and Wilson have been doing the same thing for years and the plays, the variation, the formations and especially the unpredictable creativity has never looked like this. We would have seen much of this over the years and just said Garrett resurrected it from his playbook.

This is more like Linehan with Bush and Bell on the Lions. Wade Wilson is the personal therapist to Romo and frankly who even would know if Wilson even shows up to the games. As far as Garrett, it is very much apparent that beteeen last years exposure of his lack of ability to actually coach his own playbook and the fact that Linehan has already surpassed in 6 games the total number of variations that Garrett has ever allowed to be called from his own playbook since 2007, that Garrett "disliked" the "trick" plays (or anything that requires different formations, motion, isolating an open target, or even spending times developing effectively running plays) because he just can't design or conceive of them.
He can talk about the nature, health, character and feelings of the players but he is lost as to how to maneuver them to win.
