I like the fire that Gruden brings but he hasn't done anything besides win a Superbowl with another guy's players against a team he knew like a book...literally.

Cowher would be OK too. We just need someone or I'm not wasting 3 hours of my time and getting pissed anymore.

They didn't just hand Gruden a berth to that Super Bowl.

He's far from perfect, but he's a clear upgrade and would command more respect from the GM than Wade.

I like any coach who's intense, and he is. I like Jim Harbaugh too but there's a slim chance he'd leave something he loves to go coach for Jerry.

I have less than no interest in Harbaugh.

I would love to see Bill scowling at some of these 80% effort players and driving them to the decision to either step up their efforts or fade onto another team...

I'll dance a f'n jig if Cowher comes here. That would mean less Jerry and we're talking about a guy who won consistently year after year. Including a title.

Everybody tongue bathes Tom Landry. He won two titles in the 74 years he coached here. He lost more Super Bowls than he won.

But that guy is the GOAT and Cowher isn't worth bringing in now. lol

Now you are getting it.

Still, NO to Cowher. Unless he can get LeBeau For DC.

I don't see why Cowher couldn't get LeBeau.

Then again I'm not so sure of the rule of taking assistants from other teams.

I know one thing I want a OC who runs the football, and will concentrate at building a run heavy offensive line.

Clock management is everything in football.

I think Garrett would run the ball more, if we were any good at it. We're too inconsistent at it, and have been for years. Its tough to stick with the run when you constantly get thrown for losses on early downs, and have trouble converting consistently in short yardage.

AS for TOP, we rank 10th this yr at 31:16 per game. Its not like we're terrible at it. Last yr we ranked 6th at 32:17. We did rank 19th in 2008, but we had alot of injuries that yr (Jones and Barber both, Romo, Kosier). In 2007 we ranked 12th, but we still scored a ton of points because we made so many big plays in the passing game.

Garrett's whole offensive philosophy is to pass to set up the run.

BTW no retreads, and that includes Cowher. Unfortunately Jerry can't think outside of the box correctly, so a retread it will probably be.

Garrett spent his playing days watching the 90's Cowboys dominate and control the clock with the run game. I highly doubt he's not aware of it's importance.

He's simply a very smart offensive coordinator playing to the strengths of this team.

I'll take my chances with the ball in Romo's throwing hand than I would our line getting push in the run game.

Well, I actually consider Cowher to be a little overrated. I think Tomlin's seamless transition has proven that. Nobody will ever convince me Mike Tomlin is a top head coach in this league. The front office in Pittsburgh is just so strong that it breeds winning.

But I still would welcome him here. Because no way would he come here without Jerry backing off. That's the main priority.

Being able to weekly count on the support of the 3rd team doesnt hurt either.

.

I dont know why so many dont get this. Who are the best players on the offense? Romo, Witten, Austin, Bryant, RW, Felix Jones

No OL even warrants consideration with those guys above. What quality OC wouldnt do basically the same thing we're doing? (and have been doing)

Those 90's teams were a strictly 2nd half running team.

Sure, they ran the ball a little more in the 2nd half since they usually held a lead but that team was never pass first. The entire offense was built around a smashmouth run game.

No it wasn't. We passed 1st half, and let Emmitt take care of the rest of the game in the 2nd half.

Yeah, that's what we did.

Who knew those 90's Cowboys were a pass first team?

Care to take a look at Aikman's career stats? Laughable.

I recall countless first plays in a game that Dallas ran the ball. THey ran the ball to set up the pass with Emmitt. Dallas wasn't even close to a passing team in the 90's.
