My apologies if true. I'd love to see Free get a straight pay cut. Just can't remember the last time Jerry did this. It's usually restructure with more up front money or the player is released.

Which is why Schefter was idiotic to use the word "restructure" instead of "pay cut." The two are not interchangeable.

‏@toddarcher Cowboys have about $25,000 in cap space with these signings.

‏@DCUforums
@toddarcher Free restructure going to be a paycut? Or just converting base to bonus?

‏@toddarcher
@DCUforums There is no restructure

@clarencehilljr: A source close to Doug Free and a Cowboys source said his contract is not being restructured...

sometimes "restructure" means "paycut"

If you are changing the terms of a deal, its a "restructure"

Of course you doubt it, you'd have nothign to piss, moan and troll about if it were a paycut, and then you'd be unhappy.

Yeah, because I'm a huge Cowboy hater. I'd absolutely hate it if we had a well run franchise.

I never applaud anything this team does.

U guys can tell me I don't understand because I don't agree with your viewpoint until your blue in the face.

The reality is we don't know how much they really valued huff.

I imagine he was told hey here is what we think your role is here, here is what we could pay you for that role. He could get more because he knew he had more demand. To the ravens he is worth 2 million a year, to Dallas he may have been worth less than that.

I imagine its exactly what they have done with Brandon Moore. It seems they told him what they feel his role is and what we could pay him. He can try and get more money or maybe agree to come here, this is also what they did with kellen Davis last year, they said here is your role in the offense and what we will pay you to do that here. He went back to Chicago.

The point I am making is if we had 10 million available for players right this minute and brought in huff and Moore it seems we would offer them the same because that is what they deem his value at, like Davis last year when we had money.

Those are two positions we are trying to get younger and better at which means giving a large salary to an old veteran would not make sense.

Although I do find it funny you guys are crying that we are not overpaying an older player today when u spend every moment crying that Jerry overpays old players all the time.

None of us know where the team values huff or Moore so we do not know what the exact reason.

I'll refrain from being knee-jerk on this. If anyone has noticed, no one else has reported this, particularly in the Dallas media. I take what Schefter says with a handful of shit. However, I wouldn't be surprised by this shit.
