Jerry Jones on drafting Travis Frederick at 31 overall: "We got a starter and we got the best center. And that’s what he’s going to be."
---------

Great news. No more Costa. And while I think he could do it, I didn't want him as a guard next to Costa.

Man conflicting stuff.

Callahan last night on the draft show did not commit and hesitated. He said we have some guys injured so Frederick will play guard and center in ota's in two weeks.

Starting to wonder if Frederick-costa-Mack is not the interior with smith and clabo. Then Escobar camped out next to smith and witten next to clabo.

I hope the toss comes back via 12 personnel.

Rather not have Costa at center too. He's a savvy player though so having him as competition at guard or depth at gurd would be good.

Jerry telling everyone how the team and players is to be used is SOSDD (Same Old Shit Different Day), so it should not surprise any of us. :hand

I feel sorry for the coaches (and us fans) that the staff has to check with Jerry or hesitate to make any public statements on the state of the Cowboys. :puke

Im not wishing Jerry any harm or bad health, but I look forward to the day he finally has to retire as GM. :Clap

Really isn't your place to say Jerry. How about you let the coaches make these decisions. Is it any wonder this team blows? Look at who runs the franchise. WWJD

He did call Andre Gurode a C when we drafted him too. He started at C and played well, moved to G later his first yr then struggled some. Parcells later moved him back to C to rotate with that bust Al Johnson, and Gurode blossomed as a player.

Ultimately I'm sure Callahan and Garrett will decide where to put him.

But if Jones would have said "we may try him at G" some of you clods would have complained and said "OMG!!!! How can we draft the best C in the draft and move him to G instead of replacing that turd Costa or those other bums!!!!!"

Honestly who cares where he plays. All that matters is if he is a good player where he plays at. C makes the most sense, but at the end of the day the best thing to do for the team is get the best 5 OL on the field together.

The point is it isn't his call period. He shouldn't be saying anything like that, he isn't the coach.

I agree that the coach should make the call. But lets just say I like the idea of him starting as a center.

Does it matte rif Jones says it? Maybe both Callahan and Garrett are all on board and Jones is doing what he does best: getting the face time.

The guy was drafted to be the C

Or maybe Jerry is just giving his thoughts on the pick and the coaches have yet to decide what position he's going to play.

He'll be switched around in OTAs, that's all we know.
