Neither one of the kids (Hanna, Escobar) are anywhere near ready.

We no longer have a FB - according to Fish, Hanna is struggling mightily grasping the playbook in order to expand his role - Hback/ fullback

Apparently this guy Hanna is borderline retarded...

The new Mexican from SDSU isn't anywhere near strong enough to play inline or as a FB...at the
Combine fisher said he had freshman like weight lifting strength

New base offense already looking sketch

LOL
Both these guys were/are finesse pass-catching types... I wouldn't expect either of them to be good blockers.

Yeah, lets make this call today and decide nobody is ready. Week+ before camp even starts and they have one meaningful practice with everyone together.

Makes sense.

I wouldn't be surprised if Escobar ends up being pretty decent in terms of blocking a couple yrs from now. Needs some time to fill out and work in an NFL weight program.

Besides its not all about shear mass/strength anyway. A lot of it is technique and understanding leverage & assignments. Jay Novacek wasn't a "physical" guy, but his blocking was adequate because he performed his assignments ably and used good technique.

Oh, I know... He can be decent enough as a blocker if he has it in him. Heard Phillips say on draft night that he has some very basic technique issues they think they can correct pretty quickly. Just saying that it will probably never be a strength of his or Hanna's because they're more WR/TE hybrid types.

I still don't like the two TE as a base. It is a nice package to run occasionally. Not worth three 2nd round picks in 7 years though.

I much prefer the options that Dez, Miles, Harris and Williams present.

It does seem weird to me to promote it so much in a league that is only getting more spread out and flag-football-like every year.
