Dallas Cowboys Expected To Not Re-sign Greg Hardy, Partied Too Much During Season | The Source

Might be why his production wasn't worth shit.

Greg Hardy was one of the main topics of conversation during the previous offseason as his case of domestic violence became front page news. The all-pro defensive end’s contract with the Carolina Panthers expired at the end of the 2014 NFL season and he was not re-signed by the franchise amid the controversies surrounding him.

Hardy eventually settled out of court with the victim and was signed to a 1-year contract with the Dallas Cowboys. The 5-year veteran was handed a 10 game suspension, only to later be reduced to 4, allowing him to hit the field earlier to help the Cowboys defense, which needed all the help they can get 2015. The results did not go as expected, as Hardy publicly got into with a coach and their were reports that he was not liked much by teammates.

According Bleacher Report’s Jason Cole, the Dallas Cowboys are leaning heavily toward not re-signing the defensive end. Apparently, Hardy partied heavily during the season and missed multiple team meetings, angering his teammates and coaches.

In talking to sources close to Dallas defensive end Greg Hardy, the expectation from their side is that the Cowboys are not going to bring Hardy back after a tumultuous first season with the team and a tumultuous season after his return to the league after a one-year suspension. The problem for the Cowboys is that Hardy partied a lot during the season and was not in great physical shape as the season wore on and on and on. That was part of the reason he was tardy to several meetings during the season and part of the reason why the team felt so distracted by his presence.

Hardy finished the 2015 season with 35 combined tackles and six sacks.
What's this say about possibility of us signing Johnny Boozeball?

Like I said in other thread, no reason to re-sign him.

Looked great vs New England, then was mostly an average starter at best.

I have the feeling the "too much partying" thing is a smokescreen. They didn't have any problems with his "partying" when they continued to praise his "team leadership."

But yeah, no great loss here. I think he was bad for chemistry.

His partying too much and missing all those meetings certainly explains the heavy hand the team had with him during the season. You know, all those fines and benchings and stuff.

Oh. Wait. No, none of that ever happened.

Good job coaches/ownership. Way to send a message to the team.

I don't blame the team for giving it a try with Hardy. To me, it seemed like a gamble that was worth taking.

I find it mildly encouraging that the team is willing to cut ties with Hardy. It wasn't so long ago that Jerry would have kept someone like Hardy around longer, despite multiple good reasons to do otherwise (team chemistry included).

I have no problem with them moving on from Hardy, I actually think it is the mature, intelligent thing to do. I'm just worried that we won't spend any money to replace him and sell us all on how the young guys and random dudes off the street will step up and improve the defense.

Sounds like we will have more cap flexibility this yr than anytime recently. Hopefully they spend wisely and be at least semi aggressvie to get a couple of really quality starters.

If it were me I'd try to use free agent dollars on defense and then maybe focus the early draft on offensive skills guys.

interesting how no hint of this came out until Jason Cole claimed he talked to sources.

Really. This had been going on since October and just NOW it gets out?

Considering how VR leaks like a sieve on its best day I call BS on this until someone else more reliable says he found it out as well. Right now every report (and it started on Bleacher Report so automatically you have to wonder about its reliability) you can trace back to this one..

Jason Cole with an exclusive no one else had on someone that everyone and his brothers pet turtle has been looking for dirt on.

Maybe its true but I wonder
