all solid players. first 4 would contribute on (and improve) the Defense immediately.

Starting D could look like:

LDE Trent Murphy
LDT Tyrone Crawford
RDT Kelcy Quarles
RDE Demarcus Ware (restructured)
SLB Bruce Carter/DeVonte Holloman
MLB Sean Lee
WLB Yawin Smallwood
LCB Brandon Carr
SS JJ Wilcox/Barry Church
FS Calvin Pryor
RCB Mo Claiborne

I think most smart franchises would invest a fairly early pick in a QB, especially considering your starter will be 34 and coming off two back surgeries in less than a yr and the backup will be in the final yr of his deal.

That said, "smart franchise" doesn't apply to us, so I'm sure we'll ignore it.

I don't think Carter is going to be here. I strongly suspect they will try to trade him.

Even if Carter is here, Holloman appears to be an upgrade anyway at this point.

I don't agree and am not ready to give up on Carter. That being said, I moved him to SLB which is the first spot off the field for passing downs.

Don't get me wrong, I really hope he works out here. He has off the chart athletic ability and was really good at UNC in a similar type defense as to what we play now. But for whatever reason, he just isn't getting it.

If somebody like Jimmy Johnson were coaching him, he wouldn't be like this.
