You're not gonna fix safety in this draft. Nor should you try. The talent isn't there.

Certainly not in the first round.

Maybe not in round 2 either.

If there isn't good value in the position at the Cowboy's pick in the 3rd round, then yeah the only way to fix the position for one season to go with a couple vets.

Marcus Gilchrist is a guy I might be interested in. Maybe in the 3rd round.

After that, maybe Eric Hagg.

There isn't much else. The worst safety class since I've been following the draft.

What would a Redskins' fan know about building a team through the draft? I think drafting a young OT like Smith accomplishes both.
