It's not a comedy film, but it was still funny at times.

It was a lot like Conquest of the Planet of the Apes from 1972. With Caesar being the name of the Ape in both films who leads the other Apes to fight against some of the humans later in the film. Also in both films Caesar is raised by a human. Most of the action is later in the film. The build up to the battle is interesting. I will be getting this film on Blu-ray when it comes out.

So I assume with you saying you would buy it when it comes to DVD that it would be worth dropping a few bucks to go to the movies to see it?

Loved the original as a kid. Still can watch it every time it comes on. All the sequels started to water the franchise down.

The Wahlberg remake a few years back was a shitfest with Tim Burton leading the parade. Somebody should shoot him in the face to keep him from directing anymore movies. I know this is a prequel but please tell me it's a far cry from that disaster.

He and M.Night Shyamalan should be locked in a room until one of them goes berserk and kills the other.

Then execute the winner for murder.

They could go to heaven and explain to John Ford and Alfred Hitchcock just what the fuck they think they were doing.

Me, my bro, and a few friends went to see Planet of Apes last night.

It was really good. And the girlfriend of the show was one of the prettiest girls I have ever seen.

I may be the only one who enjoyed the A-Team last summer, and it looks like a no go for a sequel.

You are not the only one. It was great.

But, no way to a sequel. There is no point.

As much as I want to see a Bad Santa 2 (which has 2 scripts floating around), I think it will ruin the greatness of the first movie. I don't think it can be topped.

I disagree on A-Team. It is an action flick. they could have cranked out one or two more, and I would have been happy.

Newswire Today in Bryan Cranston: Bryan Cranston in talks for World War Z
by Sean O'Neal August 8, 2011

Finally in compliance with motion picture regulations, Paramount has begun negotiating with Bryan Cranston to join World War Z, its adaptation of Max Brooks’ zombie apocalypse drama—one that has, until now, been dangerously freewheeling it without Cranston’s stabilizing force. Cranston would be taking on a “small but flashy role,” which is both his métier and, of course, the federally mandated minimum requirement of Cranston. Should he take the part, he’d be joining past and present AMC stars James Badge Dale (Rubicon) and Mireille Enos (The Killing), as well as star Brad Pitt, all of whom will be able to sleep much more soundly.

What's the deal with Apes? I see everyone says it's really good with no explanation. I find it hard to believe it's so damn good.

Hooo-ooooly shit, guys. Never in my wildest dreams would I have thought that watching an hour and a half of Danny McBride intentionally overacting and speaking in the worst British/Georgian hybrid accent while pimping an enormous mullet and working in some truly terrible stoner jokes along with a scene involving child molestation by some sort of goblin would not be entertaining.

It was not.

Stay the hell away from Your Highness. Trust me. On my standard scale of 218 stars, it gets 12 stars.

yeah, I heard it was a big old dump. I'm usually a McBride fan (as one dimensional as he is) but the trailer looked awful. Thanks for cementing me never watching that crap fest, echo! :thumbsup

Got bored last night and started re-watching 'The Pacific'. If you haven't seen it, do so.
