I guess guys like Ron Jaworski, Jon Gruden, Troy Aikman, Darryl Johnson, Trent Dilfer etc etc have no idea what they are talking about then Dooms, because they all talk about how solid he is in pass protection.
Ahh, you should have been watching in preseason, to hear what they were saying. But do they see Dustin Vaughan as a future star?
Randy White's fumble in SB 13 comes frighteningly to mind. Wasn't his injury to the metacarpals in his hand?Emmitt missed one game with this injury. that'll probably be Murray's fate as well.

Right. Thanks.he had a cast on his broken thumb
Think Murray will have a cast after his surgery?
dunno. I ain't no Marcus Welby
Most of these people here will not get that.

Bbgun mentioned Emmitt breaking something in his hand against Minnesota.
Iirc, he got his pinky stuck in a face mask on his way to his 2nd straight 50 yardish TD run.
that was going to be a special night for him. He would have shattered the single game rushing mark.
He was still starting on the DL, so there was no real reason to consider relieving him of his up-man blocking duties on KR. Remember - the kicker fell down, the ball came to Randy on a total fluke. It wasn't a "hands team" type deal and it wasn't a intentional squib to Randy. It was just one of the many fluke, dumb luck things to happen in that game to help Pittsburgh along. And while I love Tom Landry and think he's definitely one of the best coaches not just in NFL but sports history in general, having Randy White out on a kickoff return team was pretty stupid. One of my friends has sworn he wasn't aware, but Cowboy players said Landry was always aware of EVERYTHING going on with that team.

Why the hell not? He was out there on that unit for all his playing years and almost that entire season with that fractured thumb. He was starting on the DL and had a all-pro season at it, broken thumb and all. He was a devastating blocker on kickoff returns.Agree it was a fluke, dumb thing. But he shouldn't have been out there on that unit.
almost went with B.J. Hunnicutt
