Miles Austin suffers a hamstring injury

By Calvin Watkins | ESPNDallas.com

ARLINGTON, Texas -- Dallas Cowboys starting wide receiver Miles Austin left Sunday's game against the St. Louis Rams with a hamstring injury. Austin suffered the injury while making a catch, ruled out of bounds, early in the third quarter.

Team officials said Austin's return is questionable, but he didn't have his helmet with him as he stood along the sideline in the late stages of the third quarter.

Austin has two catches for 22 yards.

Austin has a history of hamstring injuries and does extra stretching in an attempt to prevent them from reoccurring.

The Cowboys have gone to great lengths to prevent these injuries during training camp and regular-season practices, from monitoring how much running a player does with an electric device, to limiting snaps in practice to keep players fresh.

Austin endured hamstring injuries all of last season but still finished with 66 catches for 943 yards and six touchdowns.

It was that pass where Tony hung him out to dry for 3 yards.

Did the same thing to Dez 2 weeks ago.

Then again, Harris could step up and play well. You know these injuries are going to haunt him all year.
