Just for shits and giggles.... throw what you think the top 10 will look like in the NFL draft this coming April.
Do it however you want - based on who has the 10 worst records now, how you think the top 10 will shape out, or if there will be any trades, etc. Just be sure to add what scenario you're going with.
Mine is based on if the season ended today, who the top 10 teams selecting would be, to include trades:
1. Indianapolis Colts - Andrew Luck, QB, Stanford
Luck is too good to pass up - even if you have Peyton Manning coming back. Ideally, you'd give Manning one final year while Luck "learns", and then you go with Luck in 2013.
2. Washington Redskins* - Landry Jones, QB, Oklahoma
With the rookie wage scale, trading into the top 10 is an option once again. After a year of Grossman and Beck, and the failed McNabb trade... Snyder and Allen realize they need to sell out to be sure they get a guy at QB who will not only give Shannahan something to work with, but more importantly, from Snyders perspective, invigorate the fan base.
3. Minnesota Vikings - Matt Kalil, OT, USC
Minnesota has needs all over, and Kalil is a day one starter to protect Ponders blind side.
4. Carolina Panthers - Justin Blackmon, WR, OSU
They have holes on defense, but receiver is also a need, and a better value than any defender at this point as well.
5. St. Louis Rams*- Alshon Jeffries, WR, South Carolina
Rams gambled trading down with Washington and hoped to still land Blackmon, but the gamble did not pay off. They take a nice consolation price in Alshon Jeffries.
6. Miami Dolphins - Robert Griffin III, QB, Baylor
Might be considered a reach today, but I think Griffin is the kind of player who's stock will only rise between now and April. Wouldn't suprise me if he gets some pub as being the 2nd best QB prospect in the draft behind Luck at some point.
7. Jacksonville Jaguars -Johnathan Martin, OT, Stanford
Jacksonville is such a shitty, blah franchise. They should be retracted. But instead of that happening, they draft some protection for Gabbert.
8. Arizona Cardinals - Trent Richardson, RB, Alabama
Not an immediate need, but too talented to pass up. Gives the Cardinals an immediate running game, and ends the failed Beanie Wells era.
9. Tampa Bay Buccaneers - Morris Claiborn, CB, LSU
Can't have enough corners in the NFC South. And Claiborn can come in and start from day one.
10. Seattle Seahawks - Matt Barkley, QB, USC
Pete Carrol would be so fortunate to have his QB land in his lap. If so, no brainer selection.
But wait! There's more!!!
Mid-20's. Dallas Cowboys - Peter Kontz, C, Wisconsin
Cowboys have connections on that Wisconsin coaching staff. Kontz fills an immediate need and provides center leadership for 10 years.
