Not true. Word was that the ;ions would have used their 2nd rounder on Frederics.

That was the rumor.......pretty sure it came from an in-house source.

Pretty amazing how Dallas has the draft down to such a science they know other team's boards and intentions and yet still draft a guy like Escobar.

Rumor or not. I don't think Frederics would have been there. But speaking of another "rumor"... the 49ers were rumored to have wanted Escobar.

Problems on the OL and DL?

Too bad. How many jerseys would one of them sell compared to a Hispanic player named Escobar?

It's easier to think he wouldn't have but there's not a lot of support for Detroit taking him. Their need for a C wasn't all that high.

C wasn't their weakest spot last year, it was Peterman who is no longer on the team.

Frederick was a shock pick in the 1st round. Hard to imagine many teams had him up that high because the general opinion across the board was late 2nd round or 3rd round. He said he was expecting the 2nd round.

I don't even know how Dallas would know what Detroit was going to do the following day. It's not like there could have been info that Detroit had his name down on the card, the 2nd round wasn't going to start for another 20 hours or so. Hell with Detroit liking Warmack in the early 3rd, they could have been looking to move to the later part of the 2nd and take whichever one was left between Warmack and Frederick.

I just don't know how anyone can say with any sort of certainty what another NFL team was going to do in the 2nd round when there was going to be a break for all teams to evaluate the situation.

And I have heard of that Escobar rumor. I'm glad Dallas' draft strategy is to pick guys so other teams can't instead of picking guys who can come in and help.

Maybe that's how Dallas has gotten better at drafting over the past couple years. They're buying other team's draft boards.

I will never understand taking 3 tight ends over the past 7 or 8 years when you have Jason Witten and much bigger holes elsewhere. :lol It's laughable it's so crazy.

Fasano never did much at all, Bennett was awful - I don't have to get into his antics because they're well known, and Escobar can't do a thing. Not one fucking thing. We end up signing a 36 year old guard who was out of football last year to come in because our line is that shitty yet we draft a worthless tight end in 2nd round. Again.

What a joke
