There could be a reason for his lack of proper attire that we do not know. All we do know is this reporter saw him without slacks and a tie. This could be much ado about nothing.

Thats what I am wondering, because otherwise that pretty much calls out Garretts "no nonsense approach"

I'm annoyed after hearing about this, with the amount of playing time he received.

This is Garretts first fail, IMO.

Garrett Addresses Barber’s Dress Code

Posted by nickeatman at 11/15/2010 4:29 PM CST on truebluefanclub.com

On Sunday following his first game as head coach, Jason Garrett told reporters Marion Barber did not violate any team rules, referring of course, to the speculation the running back wore jeans on the team’s charter flight to New York on Saturday.

On Monday, Garrett wasn’t even asked in his press conference if Barber had indeed violated any rules, but simply what the consequences were. And the new head coach didn’t deny any wrongdoing, and wouldn’t even answer the question if he was disappointed in his running back, who is also a team captain.

What Garrett would say is the team would and has handled the situation in-house. Maybe you can suggest Barber was already disciplined by not starting the game at running back, but he did enter the game on the second play and carried the ball three straight times.

But a more likely scenario is Barber will or has been fined for the violation, which reportedly involved the running back wearing jeans on the charter. Garrett had specifically changed the attire for an even more business-like approach, for both departure and return flights, and specified a jacket, tie and slacks were needed.

“We lay out expectations for our players for all different kinds of behaviors. And there will be consequences if they don’t follow those procedures. And we’ll keep those consequences in-house.”

When asked if Barber would remain a team captain, Garrett quickly responded with “absolutely.”

I have to say I'm disappointed in this supposed accountability at work here.

There was a perfect opportunity to make a statement. Barber is a big name. Can't play, but he carries weight in the locker room. His release would have shaken the foundation to it's core. Talk about an attention grabber.

Instead we get a fine. And probably a small one at that.

Now is that Garrett's fail or is that the fake GM once again getting in the way of progress?

Barber actually ran like his old self yesterday, but I still think he makes too much to keep him and he's not tradeable.

I thought Barber looked dead legged like the first 8 games of the season.

I think he's done. Whatever he had the first few years he's lost. He used to absorb contact and truck on. Now he goes down on first contact most of the time.

He gave the same effort, but it wasn't as effective. All that pounding has caught up with him.

Wish we would have drafted Steven Jackson, SBK.

Most definitely. Parcells is no fool proof drafter. He's got his horrific decisions like every other person who has ever made those decisions.

This wasn't as bad as Bobby Carpenter to me. This move got us Spears a year later. So it's not like we came away with nothing like we did drafting Carpenter.

Choice has to be sitting on the sidelines in disbelief watching Barber lumber along for a yard per carry.

The Carpenter pick was just crap. The guys a p****. Always was.

Carpenter made his living in college, coming off free from blocks. Once he hit the pros, he couldn't get away with that.

People who get paid to scout should have seen that. They probably did, but Man Tits overruled them because he coached his dad. That sealed it.

Spears? Or a CERTIFIED LEGIT REAL RB?

Steven Jackson and it isn't even close. Parcells' fucked up HUGE there, and He knows it. And, he didn't want to pick Jackson because he knew Dallas would succeed. he is STILL the enemy. LOL>.

But would we have been in a position to draft Ware?

But would we have been in a position to draft Ware?

I love D-Ware, but, finding a stud RB, that can carry the load, seems to be getting more difficult. I would of took the chance.

Nevermind the fact that Ware was drafted in 2005 , 11th, and Jackson was drafted 24th in 2004.

Maybe Dallas doesn't get Spears the next year, but, Jackson is still worth it.

Would Jackson have been the same runner in Dallas that he is in St Louis? I'll take what we got in Spears and Ware over what might have been in Jackson.

Considering St Louis's O-line then wasn't that good at all. Nor was the team that good, on a decline. I take that chance. Who's to say Jackson doesn't make that line Or Dallas's line better?

It's all hindsight. I just hope Dallas doesn't pass on a good player like that again.

Ware had nothing to do with it. So why include him?

The choice is Julius Jones and Marcus Spears or Steven Jackson?
