I think we will make 2 pretty significant signings. Maybe Carr and Williams or Carr and Nicks or Grubbs

Absolute coup if we get Carr, Williams and then one of either Nicks/Grubbs

We sign Carr. Nicks isn't even a consideration. Doubt Williams is as well.

Then we wait for dust to settle.

Yea I feel like brandon carr right away and then quiet.

Mickey spagnola keeps on tossing sage rosenfeld as the guy the cowboys want so i bet we have a bunch of older or mid level vets on a short list to get signed.

I really like the idea of jacob tamme for the right price, laron landry for the right price, a vet ilb like mcintosh for the right price also...

and as I have said, All it is going to take to get mario williams is money. The Dallas cowboys print money, we have more than anyone and Signnig mario williams will send a shot of adrenaline into the fanbase like terrell owens did in 06. The guy will pay for himself in merchandise and other assorted areas...

I am very curious about center though, maybe all this talk has been just media crap and we end up with a veteran center and a mid level corner like tracy porter on a 1 year deal and we keep spencer.

Given our lack of announcements re: restructuring significant contracts, releasing people, etc....getting worried that Jerry is gonna just save money and then just sit back and count it while his Super-Bowl-Caliber-Talented-Team does just enough to be mildly relevant next season.

its possible.

If we end up with spencer, brooking and elam.....it is going to be very sad.

If we get no help at corner, guard-center, safety....we are going to be even worse than last year.

I hope this is not the plan..

Lots of frustration. Lots of hair pulling. Lots of laps by other teams. We sit back and get forcefed excuses by Jerry and his mouthpiece.

Jerry will look for the cheap bargain after everyone else has picked apart the garage sale. If he does go for a big name, it usually isn’t the best big name available...yea no faith Jerry has it figured out.

This is what has me worried. We have so much room to shuffle but twas the night before Free Agency and all is quiet through the house.

Jerry is reluctant to get rid of one of our better players(Newman). We have Super Bowl/8-8 talent if we keep this core together.

That's a good point.

Maybe someone has convinced Jerry to sit on our plans..releasing Newman, Kenyon Coleman, etc...going after a big name like Nicks or Mario... restructuring contracts...and then make a big splach Tuesday. We are usually transparent with our moves. This would be a welcomed change.

If he is sitting out another Free Agency period I'm pretty sure he has money issues. That guy is a jackass but he wants to win bad. Something is definitely up. New Free Agents equal large signing bonuses and guaranteed up front money. We really haven't made any since the stadium was built and no one is paying for naming rights like Jerry expected.

I'm thinking that if we wanted to make room, we would have done so already.

Maybe we have decided internally what we are going to do and aren't announcing until tonight or tomorrow morning. We all know Terence Newmn is a goner but no announcment yet ?? Are you suggesting we are keeping him since we haven't made a public announcement yet?

Well, I guess since we're losing cap space, we won't have money to sign his replacement lol

Jerry and Stephen said we'd be aggressive in free agency

Just because you havent heard news of restructured contracts or players released, doesnt mean they arnt coming

You mean like last yr, when we went after Asomougha?

Or 1995, when we signed Deion?

They probably wouldnt make those moves until they actually need the cap space.

Also, unless you have someone at VR on speed dial, or personally know alot of the Cowboys players' agents, you have no clue what they might be working on. Just because nobody has come out and publicly said anything doesnt mean it isnt being worked on.
