If you decide to go to SF I'd recommend looking into a cage dive with great white sharks in the farallon islands, that is something to tell your grandchildren.

As per the diving with sharks thing I went with these guys http://www.greatwhiteadventures.com/index.html a plus is that he carried onboard all beers that have shark in their name. You get a couple of shitty ones, but get a great buzz on the way back.

I really can't think of any one thing I'd want to buy if I just had 1k to blow.

I like the idea of going somewhere. Experience something. Especially if you're young/single. Do something now that you won't be able to do in a few years once you're married and with kids.

I figure Gloryhole will have lots of time left before then.
