Lombardi believes Nmandi to boys

On XM NFL radio Lombardi believes Nmandi goes to the Cowboys. No state income tax and the fact that he has a relationship with Rob Ryan so he could come in and know the plays

lombardi is in the know so that is interesting.

Very odd I think still to remove newman and sign namdi with the safety spot we are in.

Maybe we will sign namdi and elam, they could walk onto the practice field friday morning and direct traffic since they know the defense.....or does namdi not know it? Oakland ran the 4-3 and a much different variety of defense than cleveland did the last two years.

either way, abe elam could step in on saturday morning and be running the practice. I am not sure anyone else could do that.

In this defense, you get some semi-intelligent scrub to play safety it seems like. You spend money on a corner that can give that pass rush a chance to get home.

You know, Nnamdi isn't my first choice for free agent signings, but I wouldn't complain if we did sign him. Just for the right price.

Then you have to factor in that there's no way we keep Newman if we sign him. He'll be released. I've said this before and I still belive we need two safeties and to stick with Jenkins and Newman.

Well, Hos has made it clear that Huff is going to be a Cowboy as well.

Interesting to think we might have 1/2 the Raiders back four leading our secondary next year.

I don't want to sign Nnamdi. What was the last big FA corner signing that really payed off? Samuels is ok, he's not a difference maker. Antoine Winfield I'd say Minny got their money's worth. Then go back to Deion? It's just not a huge position of impact. I think we can make reasonable, mid-range FA additions to our defense and see big upgrades.

If we're going to make a splash, I think Nnamdi is a splashworth talent. I'd just rather us not take that kind of risk. I'm not sure the potential reward is great enough.

He's a good player, but at his age and the $$$ it would probably take to get him, not sure its the smartest thing to do.

I don't want to sign him either. Newman, Jenkins, and Orlando can man the positions.

Solidify the front 7, and the safeties.

But... if we sign him I'll be all :towel

how could you not be, he's either 1 or 2 at his position, depending on personal preference, pretty much. It would be like us signing Peyton Manning and people being upset about it. WE COULD HAVE SPENT THAT MONEY ON ELAM!

But it still might not be smart.

I remember once Hos was like "When does free agency ever work out for anyone?"

I was all

Drew Brees - ring
Plaxico Buress - ring
Kurt Warner - ring

I think that thread got moved to the media zone or something real quick.

Theres a mindset among homers to hold onto everyone and any addition is Madden talk. I think theyre going to make a splash on Cullen Jenkins but if Newman doesnt agree to re-negotiate its time to move on. I like Jonathan Joespeh a lot but he is always banged up.

Right. That would be the way to go, Cullen Jenkins and Joseph would be okay with me.

I'd rather see that than spend all our money on Nnamdi.

I would like low key mid level free agents with the only big one being jenkins also.

I like the idea of elam back there knowing the defense from the first second he is there, plus he knows some of the guys here still.
