When you absolutely cannot afford a turnover at that particular point in the game Romo is your man.

I think if you win a Super Bowl you are exempt from the list

I guess.

If romo wins a Super Bowl the perception of him will not change, the fans of this team and the national talking heads will attribute it to something else.

Even though they didn't with Bree's and manning, whose defenses were the difference in those runs......in the years there defense could not win the game neither can they. Especially Bree's gives the ball away constantly.

IRVING, TX—In an effort to prevent the multiple championship–viewing player from reaching free agency, the Dallas Cowboys announced this week that the team had signed Super Bowl–watching quarterback Tony Romo to a six-year, $108 million contract extension. “Tony has already watched seven Super Bowls for us,” said Cowboys owner Jerry Jones, who acknowledged that the most lucrative contract in team history will put extra pressure on Romo to continue watching championships. “He was born to watch the Super Bowl, he’s proven himself capable of it, and we are confident that the next few years will see Tony Romo watch many, many more Super Bowls as a Dallas Cowboy.” Jones added that a major focus for the team this season will be on keeping Tony Romo healthy so that he can watch the entire 2014 playoffs.

Romo Geek.jpg

BRISTOL, CT—In an installment of the popular segment broadcast Thursday night, ESPN’s “Sport Science” attempted to investigate the natural phenomena surrounding Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo’s shittiness and provide conclusive explanations for why the Dallas veteran sucks so bad.

“We always want to highlight the athletes who perform on nearly superhuman levels,” “Sports Science” host John Brenkus said. “And really, nobody in sports presents a better case study of a player who spectacularly collapses under the pressure of a professional athletic stage than Tony Romo.”

The four-minute piece, which used high-tech motion sensors and accelerometers to measure the quarterback’s forced and ill-advised throws, revealed that Romo possesses the exceptional ability to fuck up in just 0.64 seconds. The segment also sought to explain the physics involved in Romo haphazardly chucking a perfect spiral directly into the hands of an opposing cornerback.

“We observed Romo missing 98 percent of our targets,” Brenkus said. “While studying the footage, we were able to determine that his capacity to make poor decisions in less than a second greatly influence why he’s so imprecise.”

“There’s not a quarterback in the NFL who can make a mistake as quickly as Romo,” Brenkus added.

The “Sports Science” broadcast confirmed that Romo’s numerous boneheaded meltdowns in clutch situations correspond to an abnormally terrible field of vision coupled with an unparalleled knack for sloppily throwing into double coverage.

In addition, the show used computer animations of Romo’s brain to simulate the precise slowness of neural firings required for the quarterback to stand in the pocket and take a sack instead of spotting an open receiver streaking down the sideline.

Physicist and local professor Dr. Charles Dunbar, who worked as a consultant on the “Sport Science” segment, confirmed that Romo has seemed to defy logic with his horrid play over the years. Analyzing tape of the Dallas quarterback throwing four interceptions to the Giants in week eight, Dunbar said he was intrigued by how the human body could be capable of such an utterly shitty performance.

“It was truly fascinating to scrutinize Romo’s pathetic struggles on the field,” Dunbar said. “We are finally starting to unravel the science behind the dumb shit tripping over his own feet and falling down well before the pass rushers arrive.”

“Those in the scientific community interested in studying piss poor quarterbacking truly couldn’t ask for a better subject,” Dunbar added Onion Logo.png

I completely disagree. If Romo wins a Super Bowl with this team, all is forgotten

Romo's perception in the National media is that he cannot win the big game.
If he wins the super bowl. How in the world could they ever say that again.

Fans are another story. If you are not producing each and every year regardless of Super Bowl wins, they want you gone

If Romo wins a Super Bowl, the perception will definitely change.

Peyton Manning was regarded as the guy who couldn't win it all. Couldn't beat Spurriers Gators (lost all 4 games in college). Couldn't beat the Patriots in the playoffs.

Then he beat the Pats in incredible fashion and won the Super Bowl and he's been regarded as a legend (rightfully so).

Even the pick six to lose the SB against the Saints hasn't hurt him.

I think something similar would happen with Romo for sure.

Two things I know for sure:

1) Tony will leave Dallas without winning a championship.
2) The vast majority of fans, instead of attributing an appropriate amount of blame for said failing, will cast him as a victim of circumstances, and indeed lobby for his inclusion in the ROH.

bbgun... if Tony played for a franchise that wasn't run by the Joneses, he'd have a Championship already.

Think about it....

He's had poor coaching his whole career (yes, including Parcells years)

He's only had a decent OL once... 2007

He's never had a thousand yard running back

He's never had the benefit of having an above average to very good defense.

There isn't a quarterback in the league that would succeed if they were in his shoes.

Totally disagree. Those three killer picks he threw in WK 17 were all on him, not his teammates. He's fatally flawed. He's an exciting fantasy football QB, not a championship one.

One of the picks he threw was Ogletree's fault for not being 6'8 with a 60'' vertical leap. He was all over him about it after it happened.
