ARLINGTON – Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said he saw the season flash before his eyes when the going got particularly rough Sunday.

“Every time we (had) a turnover or a three-and-out, I would get a glimpse of that,” Jones said. “I really do, and that’s not good. I’m glad I’m not trying to pull the trigger out there, being one of those players.

The Cowboys rallied to beat Minnesota 27-23 Sunday to remain alone atop the NFC East.
Philadelphia (4-5) and Washington (3-5) also won Sunday. Had Dallas lost after last week’s 31-30 collapse in Detroit, team morale would have been at a dangerously low point heading into next weekend’s game at New Orleans, which leads the NFC South with a 6-2 record after losing 26-20 to the New York Jets on Sunday.

A loss would have also led to questions about how the Cowboys could come up short against the lowly Vikings, who fell to 1-7.

“There are no 1-7 teams in this league,” Jones said. “That’s not the way it is with an NFL team. These guys play better than 1-7 when we play them.”

I knew he would say this!

This is a big problem with the Jerry influence. This attitude percolates down to the players.

Hey, you barely beat a cellar dweller, but they played better when we played them!

This is a fucking joke.

Someone needs to just take this guy to the retirement home and lock him down.

It's not that they play better Jerry.... it's that you're a dick head and the coach(es) you hire are dickheads, and because of this dysfunctional set up, we play down to everyones level.

Yeah, they played like a 1-7 team. Ponder was still incompetent and they still had complete scrubs like our castoff Andrew Freaking Sendejo in the secondary. Problem is your poorly coached team isn't good enough to make them look bad.

Well, Sendejo almost made the Cowboys.

That mean's he's close to being a Pro Bowl player.

This thread would be much better if the title had "life" substituted for "season".
