There are a lot of reasons for the Dallas Cowboys dreadful season and 4-9 record, but coach Jason Garrett’s calm sideline demeanor is not one of them, per owner Jerry Jones.
Jones said Garrett is conscious of being civil in press conferences and on the sideline but he will blow up and bite at players when necessary.
Jones knows as much because he has seen him "bite as a pup and bite as dog."
"Well, Jason is a smart guy," Jones said on his radio show on 105.3 The Fan. "He knows that if it is a sideline that those cameras are zeroed in on him. He's not about to fall where he is conscious, and he's conscious of everything out there. Make no mistake about it. And you see very few redheads that aren't about to blow up inside when somebody is not doing right. And, so, it's all there. It's all there in a big way. And he will bite. You know the old adage: ‘I've seen him bite as a puppy, and if he'll do that, they'll bite as a dog’. He'll bite. He's just smart enough in front of a press conference or smart enough on that sideline to be a little civil about it."
