It's a bit more than that. It's building your team unit by unit.
That's what I'm asking you. Tell me what units those teams have that are so great? Cause they don't have any

whats the broncos identity? peyton manning?
whats the pats identity?
you just need to be a good team to win - the whole identity thing is bullshit...
what about the saints?
what about the packers?
throwing the ball for billions of yards is an identity? no...its called having a great QB

I think the thing is, in todays NFL, if you have a great QB, you don't have to have a great anything else. You can just have good.
But great QB's are rare as hell.
And we don't have one.
So the teams that don't have a Brees, Peyton, Rodgers, etc.... they need to have a great unit to serve as their identity, and at least have a competent QB to support it.
We have Romo, who you can win with, if we had a great unit to serve as the identity of the team.

So should our top priorities be OL and RB?
Identity is a lot more than being a "passing team" and a "running team".
It also has to do with the rest of the philosophy.
Ever notice how the Seahawks and 49ers are not described as passing and running teams only? You always hear strong defense.
Contrary to what people think, the dynasty Cowboys were not built by drafting RBs and OLs and devoting resources to that goal. We spent just as much getting the defensive pieces in place...if not more.
You guys want an identity...wouldn't we be closer to being a dominant offense than a dominant defense? So wouldn't the answer be to invest more in the offense?
This roster needs about 90% turnover. But with the current management in place, that will take so long that the quality talent we do have will be at the end of their careers by the time we turn that much of the roster over.So then what the heck are you supposed to do? Can't have it all...we have nothing, so I guess that's the main problem
